I'll be checking out Redcar arcades as soon as I get chance! Also Blackpool next time I'm there.

Had a go of this in Dr. Quirkies in Dublin. It's alright. I think I'd still rather play the original if I'd the choice.

Finally!!!! The 4 way gear shifter. What was in their minds when they launched the game with that sequential 2 way shifter?

I wouldn't exactly call it "dumped", more accurately it was accidentally leaked and then hacked. What I heard happened was Sega put out a downloadable "patch" for it that turned out to be the whole game. Then people hacked it up to make controls work.

From the look of a few videos online, I think a lot of people have a weird issue with the steering locked left.

Still looks like a soulless husk of a Daytona though :(

Why bother. You can get the superior original running on PC and there's a great port on Xbox 360/One.

Yeah, I don't understand why anyone would bother playing this at home.

Even if it was totally unintentional, good job Sega. Now that it is out there dumb people can't line some hacker's pockets with Patreon pledges / Paypal "donations" for a dodgy home version

I'm really curious and cautiously optimistic about this.

I've seen the up-down shifter version in Istanbul yesterday. Is the machine worth playing?
Is there a course chart or anything online?

Okay. I played 2 credits.
1 Daytona licenced NASCAR oval
2 Dinosaur Canyon
The Daytona course is like 777 Speedway but less "Sega".
At Dinosaur Canyon I had a time getting the car to rotate as I wanted it to. Granted, it's about 5 years since I played the game and the First time with a wheel. Did a 3:04 in my single attempt, but lost a lot of time through crashing.

It never fehlt Like 60 Hz but it was good enough.
The cabinet looked like a repurposed SRC

The 3 new tracks are mirrored reskinned versions of the originals. I love dinosaur canyon and the new version looks pretty good but it's so goddamn dark.
And them dissing the manual H-Gate completely throws the drifting mechanic out the window.

Here's a video of me playing the new mirrored version of dinosaur canyon
