Any London/UK based cab lovers want to check out a haul of cabs?

Post by supertakumar »

I took delivery of a fair few cabs last week. Mainly Astro, NAC and Blast with a few E2 thrown in.

-EDIT - (3 x E2, 13 x NAC, 4 x Astro, 20 x Blast)

At the weekend i'm planning to go check them over.

I was wondering if there was anyone here with a good level of technical knowledge of these models who would be interested in having a look through them with me, and also showing me a thing or two about the technical side of things?

I'm hoping it would be a learning experience for me, and fun in general for both of us (already found a few little surprises when i opened a few of them up).

Would be happy to pay for your time too.

If anyone here has any interest, just drop me a message or post up here.

(Oh me and the cabs are both based very near Manor House station).

Cheers :)

-EDIT- *Supreme tech skills not required, love of beer/pizza/messing around with cabs will suffice :awe:

Hi man,

Yeah that's right, that was why i was after the customs broker.

Got it all sorted in the end.

Quite suprised no one is up for it, it's been loads of fun so far going through them all. Finding all kinds of history and weird looms and stuff inside them.

Thanks for the offer of help man, but yeah Ireland probably a bit out of the way for you to get here :)

I have a few photos on my camera, will dig some out :D

:awe: fair play for importing some cabs dude looking forward to the pics and info on the import.

Surprised no one has jumped in to have a look even ,maybe it's because we're all grumpy gits and most are down at local corner shop giving Out about the price of bread

Maybe anyone local is just busy twiddling there own sticks :fastlove:

Yeah that's understandable, weekend time is precious so i guess most people who own cabs probably want to be to be twiddling their own sticks as you say :)

Most of the cabs are in the space i'm working on. The Egrets are in my house, can see those in the background.

Thank you man, i appreciate that.

To be honest i'm sure any know how you have is more than me! I'm just looking to have fun with the cabs and learn a bit in the process so if you ever want to pop over and just jam with a beer or two i'll be in the space working on them most of the time :)

The words technical and knowledge scared me off.

Haha ok. I've changed the title to something more appealing :)

I just didn't want to be too informal and assume that people would want to spend their time checking out cabs if it wasn't a vaguely professional gig.

But yeah really as i said i just want to have a bit of fun and hang out with like minded peeps whilst trying to learn.

Maybe you can list the name of the cabs, that may rise interest.

Are all of them for you? or do you plan to sell them (even you have no technical knowledge)?

Cool man, done :)

There's nothing amazingly rare, just Blast, NAC, Astro and E2 (although the E2's are in lovely condition).

No, none of them are for sale. I bought them to populate an events space i'm setting up.

I bet there are a lot of AO users familiar to those cabs ;) I hope someone is close to you and available.

I'm not planning on opening an arcade, but a new events space. The main difference being that it will only be open when there is an event happening.

Will post up full details soon, just finalising details of the launch at the moment.

If you're in Finsbury Park the any of the buses that go past Manor House will get you there in about 10 minutes, almost door to door :D

Give me a shout if you would like to come have a look at any point

Just seen this. I'm not far, over in Tufnell Park. I could drop in and give you some pointers sometime if you like. I'm not a "tech" by any means, but can discharge/change a monitor, solder, name all the parts etc. and have owned about 6 different cabs thus far. Also pretty au fait with every stick/button given I run an arcade store. Depends on what you want to know really.

That would be amazing man, would really appreciate it.

I know my way around a little bit but it's always much easier to get a grip on things when someone can show you in person, and more fun to work whilst hanging out and playing a few games in the process!

I'll be in the space most of the time so just let me know if there's a good time for you :)
