I'd also like to know more about this!

Apparently there were a few official Sega arcades in France in the 90s with imported Astros / New Astros:

I believe you mean first documented case of a candy cab in Europe. It is possible that Japanese companies imported them in sooner than that. Without proof it will be hard to tell.

I'm sure they did. There was that warehouse find with plenty of ones officially converted for european use by Sega.

I must admit that when I started the thread I was thinking in cabs imported by an enthusiast not by a company. Obviously, this point wasn't clear in my first post.

For instance, if my memory serves me well, I think I got my first cab (NAC) in 2008. It was a present from my girlfriend. I know, best girlfriend ever :awe:

I got my NAC in June 2003, imported from France. Obviously it wasn't the first NAC in Europe but I'm pretty sure it was the first NAC in the UK, and pre–killercabs days (the Troc didn't get the vs cabs until 2004) Earliest Japanese sit-down cabs that I'm aware of in the UK were the Pony cabs in the Trocadero London which I'm pretty sure I remember being there in the early 90's when I used to go to TCR grey import shopping.....with my Mum. Oh and the Okay Baby cabs in arcade on the corner next to the IK+ gates in Soho, they were there in the early/mid-90's for sure and later on in Las Vegas. "DEL" from the Shmups forum would be the person to ask for more accurate dates.

There were Sega Aero City Cabs for the german market.
Don't remember that I ever saw a candy in the wild in Germany besides Naomi Cabs in the 00s.

These Aero´s where imported new from Japan, most hardly and some never at all used and ending up in a cellar in Germany before popping up again in 2010.

That must have been early 90´s at the latest .

I remember a large arcade in Leeds called centre four
They had lots of candy cabs and were white metal with headphone sockets but I don't know what type they were this was around the time of virtua fighter and tekken
They also had a galaxian 3 6 player theatre

How about the Pony II's in the Troc London? They always seemed to have been there for an eternity.
