How do you store your PCBs?

Hi everybody,

Since I am starting to get PCBs again I would like to get some good ideas about storing them.
I saw that there are cases for Cave games, does anybody know where I can get them?

Also what about the rest? How do you guys store your PCBs?

Thank you in advance!

Pink (anti-static) bubble wrap and cardboard boxes. Label the boxes with a permanent market. There are nice boxes made with pink foam inserts from different companies here in the states:

and

Putting cave cv1000 games in modified MVS shock-boxes might look cool, but I don’t really think it’s the best method of storage. First of all, the boxes are known to apparently hold static electricity, unless that’s an urban legend.. Plus you have to cut out part of the inside plastic which makes an already-fragile boxes, even more prone to breaking. Then again, if you’re goal is to just have your games look pretty on a shelf, you could do a lot worse. :D

Great, thank you Chempop!
I will go for the cardbox bubble combo.

I place my PCB in a silver anti static bag, then place it in a cardboard box padded with regular bubble wrap

how much static is too much for PCBs? Say for example you are not storing them on top of carpet or on top of an electronic device like a microwave oven...is there really a need to use antistatic bags/wrap?

This video may be of interest:

I would do what DaveyD does and use a silver antistatic bag with a foam packed cardboard box.

Probably not, especially if you handle the PCBs without proper ESD protection for yourself. However it can't hurt to be cautious, especially given the price of some games.

For normal PCB's (also CPS1.5 and CPS2) I wrap them in anti static bubble wrap and store them in normal cardboard boxes use for mailing packages. I also use a smaller version of these boxes for MVS and PGM games.
My Atomiswave games are stored in Electronic Arts Megadrive cartridge boxes and my eX-BOARD carts are stored in Nintendo GBA cart boxes.

That doesn't look like even static resistant wrap let alone antistatic, and while they're on end they're also leaning on eachother.

Grade: C-

PCBs in cardboard boxes (and in antistatic bubblewrap) and neatly on the shelf, MVS carts in shockboxes.
