How many cabs have passed through your hands?

Post by Spectre »

Just doing a bit of hard drive cleaning and came to my arcade photos folder. Prompted me to look through at all the cabs I've owned and I believe I'm now on cab number 14...

1) Woody (4 button)
2) Naomi Universal
3) Capcom Impress
4) Mushiking
5) Sega Touring Cars (converted to Initial D)
6) Naomi Universal (converted to chopped Jaomi)
7) Club Kart Prize upright (converted to Initial D)
8) Lindbergh Universal
9) WeChe OK Baby
10) Naomi Universal (converted to NNC)
11) F355 (converted to OutRun2)
12) New Net City
13) Initial D v3

and I currently have

14) Naomi Universal (WIP black NNC conversion)

From 13 candy cabs owned, only 2 were non-Sega. Yet I've never owned an Aero or an Astro. I'm on my 6th Naomi cab (including the upright driver and NNC), jesus I must like them! They are great project cabs though and I must enjoy fiddling about with cabs more than actually playing game on them, or I wouldn't have owned and converted so many!

The most cabs I've ever had at once is 3, but this was for quite a brief time. Typically I've only had 1 cab at a time, but occasionally have had a transitional period of 2 cabs. Am I the only person who does this, enjoys a cab for a while, then want something else so move it on (never really intending to have more than 1 cab at once)?

Interested to hear about other people's habit, this thread could be like AA for us otakus :awe:

1) Big generic woody
2) Egret 2
3) Mushiking
4) Vewlix F
5) Pony Mark III 25

At one point I accidentally had 1,2,3 and 4 in my possession at the same time. I'm happy with just the Pony now but I'm sure I'd have more if I had the space.

I find it hard so hard to pass on cabs so i tend to hoard them.
But I have forwarded
2x XiongBa 29"
1x JAMMAconverted Phoenix woody
1x wooden poker cab i bought just for the monitor

Still have 10+ cabs, would prolly sell my two chopped Naomis if they where worth more than pocket change in favor of some 15kHz JAMMA cabs

Always ? iirc it was 1 comment recently & it's usually so I can see as many different cabs as possible (& improving on current 1's) not selling & buying back similar cabs months later.

And if I were to sell the Versus there would be no going back to cabs, period.

I'm not into selling cabs, in fact I've never sold a cab to make way for another one. Most have either been sold/ given away to friends due to house moves, an AW was sold as the monitor packed in and at the time I didn't know who could fix it, a couple of woodys were scrapped again due to monitors.

Cabs I no longer own
More than my fair share of woodys
2x cocktails (no idea what they originally were)
2x Electrocoin MVS
2x Lordvale MVS
Atomiswave
Astro City

I think that's about it, but this is over a period of 15+ years

Considering i don't really deal in cabs, there has been a few 40+ naomi cabs, 16+ mushi/dinoking cabs, 8 lindbergh uni and so on. Must be close to 100 cabs passed through my hands.

Another interesting thread would be how many cabs you sacked/scrapped!
Say hello to my little friend...
