I've read a few threads about several members having their DOJ pcbs fail.. is my brain blowing this out of proportion? or are they really that faulty?

My understanding is (and feel free to jump in a correct me):

Original white label w/battery are ticking timebombs.

Original black label are rare as sin and expensive as hell.

Converted white to black are the more common "fixed" versions.

The blue shells are questionable.

The PGM boots have improved sound and highscore saving... but you are supporting the slaying of a martial masters cart.

well you can remove the battery yourself. But is the battery really what is causing these pcbs to fail? Then why aren't any espgaluda, or ketsui pcbs failing? (or not nearly as many..)

Must heat build-up inside the case. Remove the battery or replace with a fresh one (super easy, no suicide on white label). Also make sure the fan is fresh so it can move as much air as possible.

i know people dont like them much but im going to eventually get them on PGM cart , seems alot less hassle and ive owned all those games in the past on the original hardware , i think the carts should be a little cheaper though maybe £100 each but hey

a doj cart is/was ~£130 + p&p and tax so somewhere about £160 all told from the guy in Austria. there was a doj or galuda on j+ that the buyer (from the sale on there) attempted to re-sell before even receiving it I think due to it being an impulse buy but got no takers at ~£100 iirc.

But DOJ was the first CAVE PGM game, right? I think that's why it fails. Old + dangerous battery + stuck inside a small oven. I'd love the PGM cart version too some time, but it's off putting that you can't play white label on it + the whole "Joerg is a douche" thing.
