Anyone know what this board is?

Post by NaokiS »

Hi all. This is a konami PCB that's not jamma but I cant for the life of me figure out what system it is or what games it would most likely play. I know no one can tell me exactly what game it is, but any ideas?

Well, whatever it is it appears to be part of a two+ board set, as it doesn't have a harness edge, nor any EPROMs or Mask ROMS. It's junk really, probably why its 5 quid.

I looks like it's mostly sound and I/O related, not much in the way of CPU or ROMs there, 2 x z80s etc. Maybe part of a dedicated cab?

During the early 90s, Konami made some Token betting games and I am 99% sure that is one of the boards that would have driven it. It would have had a number of other boards attached to it to drive lights and the hoppers a well as boards that read the inputs, hence the number of connectors on teh board. However the fact it has no ROMs (as they have been removed) does make it as useful as large paperweight.

I only see a custom Konami sound chip and two Z80, that should be some kind of token or medal game.
