Much more like it. 8-)
Yes I was but I could't find a decent pic ...
Thank's for finding one

Love love love that Intro !
It is one of the rare Arcade Intro I can watch on a loop.

Super Turbo because it's the one most often used in tournaments and I like to watch Youtube videos and learn. The AI is annoying of course and I'm not a big believer in online play. Used live with a dude was equally fond of the game in 1st year of college and we must have clocked a couple of hundred hours on it. Haven't had a chance to play people regularly in years but I try pop into Goodge St. Casino for a few rounds when I'm in London.

I play SFZ the most, though there is no reason to have this game at all, nor is it actually my favourite.

My favourite is Z2 and Z3, can't decide between them.
I like the new characters (Gen, Sakura, Rolento) and most of the stages in Z2 are awesome, as is the music and presentation.
I don't like the fact that you can perform both Supers and CC's during gameplay, however.
Z3 makes is right for me by letting you choose your -ism, and some of the added frames to the characters in x-ism shows attention to details.
I don't like the announcer and some music sounds as if the artist had one can Red Bull and one line of cocain too many.
Air recovery backfires for me most of the time too, but I like the fact that throwing is now performed differently than before and also that the force of the punch or kick button determines the Super's level.

Those are some good points about Z2 and Z3. I can't decide which one I like better because both have some good and some not so good design choices in them. But I do like the soundtrack in Z3. The themes fit the characters perfectly, unlike the dance crap in some later Capcom games. :shifty:

To be quite honest I get a bit lost with the whole 6-button control scheme, I much prefer a four button SNK set-up.

I appreciate Street Fighter II for what it is, and it was nice being there when the Super Famicom ports originally came out as it was quite a technical accomplishment. I Probably played Alpha 3 on the Dreamcast the most though.

Although my favourite 'Street Fighter' would still be SNK vs Capcom: Match of the Millenium on the Neo Pocket.....

I liked Zero 3 for the fanservice (The Dolls). The ism system was cool.

Amongst SF fighters, I liked Third Strike the most for the parries.

Funny stuff. When I first started with SF (as a preteen) I never understood why so many buttons as I was doing great with just four - never using mid attacks. I don't remember when I started using it, but today would be impossible to enjoy Street Fighter as much as do without them. Those extra two mid buttons add so much depth when it comes to keep chaining deliciously crunchy hits.

Love SF. :awe:

SSF4AE :-o

there I said it.

SF2 variants , SSF2 variants, etc were all great and have stood the test of time very well. I played the crap out of them back then and still do once in a while, but let's not be reasonable and quit being haters....

- more characters
- more moves
- deeper combo systems
- tons of advanced thecniques to master
- online play
- better sound & gfx
- cammy's booty

the SF3 serie seems pretty good though, maybe I should give it a fair shot.

I've been converted. Zero 3 is clearly the best SF game after SSF2X. :awe:

More character isnt always a plus; it does get rediculous at times. For example, looking at some Mugen charater roster can only make me facepalm and get the hell out of there.

I own most sf2 PCB's (world warrior, ce, hyper fighting, ssf2x and hsf2ae)

My personal favorite is Hsf2ae, because it's the most challenging (akuma is a beast) :D

Ok, some people made more than one choice, or couldn't decide a single favourite, so I may have got lost somewhere skimming back and forth through the posts. Anyway, the results look something like this... probably...

Arcade Otaku's Top Ten Street Fighter Titles:[/b

1. SSF2T/X - 13 Votes
2. SF2T:HF - 6 Votes
2. SF3:3S - 6 Votes
2. SFA2/Z2 - 6 Votes
2. SFA3/Z3 - 6 Votes
3. HSF2:AE - 4 Votes
4. SF2:WW - 2 Votes
4. SF2:CE - 2 Votes
5. SSF2 - 1 Vote
5. SSF4:AE - 1 Vote
5. SFMovie - 1 Vote

Whatever the confusion, there is a clear winner!

I've just realised that there are actually 11 titles in that list... but surely 'SF the Movie doesn't count right??? A rubbish game, made of a rubbish film, made of an awesome game :problem:

I think Third Strike is the finest fighting game around.

What's funny is at the Namco offices where Harada works (Tekken creator), they have six cabinets. Two are T6 heads up, two are TT2 heads up, and two are 3s

I think the definitive Street Fighter would be SuperTurbo/IIX. I'm usually in the minority, but I really like the changes and adjustments made in HD Remix as well.
However, Hyper SF2 gives you more options and a tad more variety (but is sadly less accessible than SSF2T/SSF2X).

SFZ3 and SFIII 3S are both lots of fun and both AMAZING games, but I never played either of them enough back in the day to become "actually good" at them (I essentially played them as if it was just SF2). So I can't put either of them on the top of my list, unfortunately.

No love for the Street Fighter EX series in this thread?

On an aside:
The SF4 series, while not being necessarily the best in terms of gameplay, has served its purpose to revitalize people's interest in fighting games in recent years (especially new players).

SF:The Movie is a game that I pop up on MAME every now and then. Not because it's a good game (far from it), but more of just because it's just something different, and just for the giggles because my wife laughs so hard when I play that game. I usually interpret it as "SF2 trying to be like MK". On the flipside, I would love to see the reverse; what MK would've turned out to be if it tried to be like SF2.

Best SFA2 review ever. I remember watching that review before though I can't remember where I saw the link or who told me about it. I like the bit about Charlie being Blanka before he was mutated, just like in the movie :problem:

and...
"characters with strong legs tend to be the best"

Serious legs:
Dan
etc.
Serious legs :palm:
