New range of Metal Slug figures ^_^ at last!!
Look what I just found!
I've always wondered why it was so damn hard to find any metal slug figures - aside from the fio that is out there..I tried my luck and look what I found! I think they look pretty sweet. Thoughts?

Found them here with free postage from china if anyone wants them. I'll let you know my thoughts when they arrive ^_^

I might want a Metal Slug figure if only they looked as good as the in-game artwork and extra console artwork. Disappointingly, those don't.
Call me picky if you want... I just have high standards.

I'd quite like the Slug one, but the rest would just be a waste of money.

The Slug figure/tank one is okay, doesn't look pixelated enough, if you know what I mean.Ultron wrote:I might want a Metal Slug figure if only they looked as good as the in-game artwork and extra console artwork. Disappointingly, those don't.

It's lacking in character.
The mummy one is reasonable, but just doesn't excite.
A missed opportunity as everyone likes a bit Metal Slug action.

Sorry, but these are truly god awful. Completely rubbish faces.
What a wasted opportunity
The tank looks kind of okay. Wouldn't mind buying that and remodeling the head.
By the way, why do the descriptions on all the boxes say the same thing?
'Hostage Wendigo Fatty'
There's some nice Chinese quality control for you
Here's the slug tank one on it's own if anyone feels like taking the plunge

Edit - **** all of the above, this 'Metal Bug' resin kit is where it's at

I don't think they are 'truly God awful' ..and the box is just a means to transport it to me, it would go right in the bin. I think given that no one has made slug figs really in all this time or that you can find now, it's better than nothing. And I don't feel like getting my playdoh out tbh.. I think they will look sweet sat on a tiny snk arcade machine or next to my neo geo pocket..tough crowd, it's FRIDAY

I can vouch for the Metal Bug kit. It´s plastic and reasonably priced (about 25 USD on ebay).

Re: New range of Metal Slug figures ^_^ at last!!
Apologies for the late reply, but I just remembered that I actually *have* one of the Metal Bug kits. It's in a backlog of model kits I still need to finish (behind my 80% done Ikaruga kit, in front of the Ginkei and a couple other things).
It's still unassembled at the moment, but the overall quality is pretty decent. It's from kind of a no-name company, so the plastic isn't quite up to the same standard you'd expect from Kotobukiya or Bandai kits. However, it's very detailed, and provided you handle it well I can't see any problems with it warping/snapping/whatever. The sprues are a little 'messy' from factory, and you'll need to do some cleaning of flash and mold lines. Nothing excessive, and it's not resin, so it's not hard to work with.
In terms of fit, (again I haven't done much of any assembly yet), most of the parts are a bit on the loose side. You'll need glue if you intend to keep it as a display piece without worrying about little bits and pieces falling off.
You should keep in mind, though, that you'll NEED to paint it if you want it to look good. The default color for all body parts is one shade of gray, and the treads are black. The colors aren't terrible, but they have a poor finish and won't look very good if left unpainted, unlike a Kotobukiya or Bandai kit.
All that said it's a VERY detailed kit that should look fantastic if you put the effort into it.
If you guys want I can take it out and snap some pics.
