Re: What was the first game &cabinet you bought
First cab was a woodie from an arcade distributor in Birmingham. I think it was an Electrocoin but regardless I got lucky as it was in cracking nick. That was in 2001 (ish). It came with an MVS 1 slot with Metal Slug in Sold it some years later to the neighbour who'd 'always fancied one of those'.
Was cab less for a few years till I picked up the AWSD.

Re: What was the first game &cabinet you bought
My first cab was a New Astro City. I imported from Hong Kong myself, which in the end was way too expensive, but it looked great though.
After that I got one a lot cheaper, but I had to completely take that one apart to be able to get it upstairs.
My first game was Hokuto No Ken for my consolized Atomiswave.

Re: What was the first game &cabinet you bought
Cool topic, actually...
I got my first, erm, "cab" in 2008... It was a woody shell of a virtua fighter machine (no monitor, no nothing included) for way tooooo much... Actually... it was a piece of crap, but it was nice to play all the mame-glory there is on it's almost proper natural habitat... Or so...
I never quite finished it. Sold it in 2010... And got me...
A blast City in 2010 from our RKLOK and sometimes later an EspRade as my first PCB. Still got the cab and the pcb, of course. (unfortunately, they're situated down in the basement nowadays, but at least I can get me some free time down there - almost on a daily basis. )
Atm... I'm patiently waiting for my supergun to arrive. ^^

Re: What was the first game &cabinet you bought
My first cabinet:
An Ok Baby. Bought in 2007 and sold in 2009 (making money for the EII). A chinese knokoff for sure, but also a pretty solid cabinet.
The screen was an Hantarex 28 15/24 khz with a very noticeable burn off, and the jamma loom was very very loose (a lot of work, for a guy without any skill with a solder).
My first game? Metal Slug, i think.
But with this cabinet i have played ONLY two games: Blazing Star (my best score: 21 millions with Windina) and Shoock Troopers (11,5 millions, mountain route).

My first cabinet was in 2006 a NEO Candy 29. picked it up for 250USD, and got a free 1slot (thought it was broken, just a voltage) and a bad dudes vs dragon ninja PCB beat it the first night.

Re: What was the first game &cabinet you bought
My first was a woodie-standup clone of a Galaxian cabinet. I gutted, restored and converted it to an Xbox360/Mame cabinet with an LCD screen:
You can see my old project thread here.
I've since moved on from woodies (except for my original Robotron cabaret), and sold this cabinet to a friend of mine. He plays it every day and still loves it.

Re: What was the first game &cabinet you bought
First arcade I ever obtained was an original R-Type machine, I tucked it into a nook in my kitchen and waiting for dinner to finish cooking became much more bearable. It had an awesome monitor. Most recently I got this little gem. Small, but heavy as lead.

Re: What was the first game &cabinet you bought
My first ever arcade machine was this killer instinct cab converted to street fighter in or around 2002! Bought off fleabay! I then converted to Mame and sold to my ex's brother! ha! Would love it back, loved that machine. The LS cab was bought a couple of years later by I guy called Tony if I remember correctly who imported 10 I think direct from japan! I went to pick it up from Southampton I think! Anyone know him??
