I'd love to see some nice woodies in the marketplace.

Another thing about candies though. Japanese ones specifically. They were actually made by games companies and released with certain of their games. So you're using something designed by the same people that made games themselves. Which isn't the case for 99% of generic cabs made outside of Japan. I can't think of any games developed by Electrocoin, for example - I'd be interested to know if any were, however.

I would like to see pictures of some actually nice wooden cabinets, perhaps an idea for a gallery thread?

Dedicated woodies are severely overpriced here in NZ, people market it as an up market collectable. So, until someone comes up with a generic design that is adopted by gamers all over the world, woodies will not have a fan base as strong as the japanese counterparts. HOWEVER, Hong Kong (yifan?) did come up with a design that was based on wood that even had a hood like a neo cabinet at one stage. Could this be the last evolution of woody cabinets?

And a local forum member did a stella job of refurbishing one too:

The cabinet is just a vessel, the gem is the game, as long as the controls, comfort level, display and sound is not **** then its a good cabinet, am I right fellas?
