It was the cabs, chips and Slush Puppies that gave me the motivation to earn swimming badges for mum to sew on my trunks

Learning a vert shooter is such a daunting task. I still think they're possibly the most skilfull genre of arcade game.

Heh maybe I wouldn't mind getting into Galaga 88'. I was gutted I missed out on a PCB on eBay last year for £70. Doesn't matter now thoughcool, Outzone

Lol, that's exactly what I used to do when I'd go swimming. We had a Teddy Boy cab in ours.Did every sports centre sell chips, Slush Puppies and have a couple of cabs? As that's exactly what I used to do after swimming too

My local swimming pool had Strider. Spent a fortune on that game and I'm still **** at it.

Ours had a couple and they changed the games fairly often. I can remember SF2, Double Dragon, Centipede, Bucky O'Hare, Guerilla War, and P.O.W, I'm sure they had a few more too

Re: Whats in your cab(s) right now?
I remember Golden Axe and Altered Beast the most - they were in for ages, but I also remember Cabal, Op Thunderbolt and Robocop, then a bunch of sports games which I was never interested in.
They eventually replaced one with a crisp/chocolate machine and the other had some crap football game in for ages before they removed it
They've just torn the pool down to build a new one and the high school I went to is just about to get the same treatment. I feel old

Changed my mind and turned the screen back to hori. Vertical shooters bring back to many bad memories... Gonna go balls deep on TGM2-Plus instead. Such a good game!

We had a leisure centre opposite our high school (Clacton county high) when I was there it had konami GT, altered beast, r-type, side arms, black tiger, flying shark. Good times.
Say hello to my little friend...

My local baths had a rotary fridge which had microwaveable chips, which was quite impressive in the mid eighties. Also had a ghosts n goblins cab.
In my cabs at the mo are.
Aero City - Salamander
Egret II - Argus No Senshi
Blast City - Flying Shark

My new toy I got today! Power supply worked for only 2.5 games before crapping out, I'm going to rebuild the original PS but for right now it's using a spare I have laying around. I'll eventually track down some new decals too.

Re: Whats in your cab(s) right now?
Not exactly in my cab, but a successful test of my Naomi gun setup. I made a copy of a friends HOTD2 wiring harness with scrap Sega wiring from eBay and cobbled together all the parts. In the video I've only got one gun hooked up but I hooked the second one up after and it works as well.
Next step is to figure out where the guts will live. I only have one Blast City and its staying vert. I'm thinking of building a pedestal on casters that I can wheel in front of my HD TV to play, and wheel it out of the way when done. I'd really like an upright Net City so I could play gun games in VGA as well as standard res JAMMA games, but those cabs are just about impossible to find in the US. I weep a little when I see folks on here chopping cabs down when I want to find an upright!
I will admit that playing it on the Blast wasn't as awkward as I thought it would be. Not the ideal angle, but still perfectly playable.
