Re: Interesting article on arcade culture
Lol, quoting Baudrillard as a preface to an article on arcade games, stating arcade games are of a higher quality to console games as though it's fact, overusing the first person to the nth degree, swearing needlessly and throwing all objectionability out the window in favour of impressing a de-facto opinion; and all this in an 'essay' that lacks form, balance, editing, structure and any particular point amongst a mish-mash of self-important waffle.
Other than that it's not bad.

Jesus , that dude has a stick the size of Japan in his ****. Is he too stupid to understand that some people just want to be entertained by video games?

He has a receptive audience though. Anyone that could be arsed to read that (I have btw) will already be in the demographic that laps that **** up.
There are a hell of a lot of crap arcade games out there. All the ones mentioned in the essay (excluding jingi storm & the novelty gun / driving games) would be deemed as AAA titles of their genre. Lets compare DOJ with Brats on DS
I have to agree he needs an editor to cut the **** & to help him figure out what his point is. I think you are bang on the money Tom, but when are you going to write up some more reviews / articles?
anyways…… with all the criticism I do like some of icy’s articles. and there aren’t many people that even bother to write anything up on arcade releases in Japan.
