I now want a PCB holder thanks to this thread (not that I knew that they even existed before).
Here's my Astro with Ketsui (or Espgaluda, I forget) and my ghetto mounting setup:

No mounting holes to drill, PCB's well supported, totally adjustable. Very creative and totally serviceable, I like it!

Why didn't I think of that...that's a great alternative to a PCB holder!japtor wrote:I now want a PCB holder thanks to this thread (not that I knew that they even existed before).

Re: Show us what's mounted in your cab!
It was simple enough I was surprised I didn't see others like it already. Well the PCB feet + S hooks part, not the cutting board from Costco. I just remember seeing that while shopping and thinking "that'd fit perfectly!" (now that I think about it there was also a smaller cutting board with it that I have misplaced...that could've come in handy at some point).cthulhu wrote:Why didn't I think of that...that's a great alternative to a PCB holder!
I think I saw that and another quick post about the voltmeters over on the Shmups forums. I was gonna ask, how's that all hooked up exactly? From searching around all I could figure out was something like a pass through board with that thing wired to ground and +5V? Would it be possible to add another (or even daisy chain the ground?) to measure the +12V at the same time or would something get all screwed up?

Re: Show us what's mounted in your cab!
It's basically a mini voltmeter you can buy on ebay for a few quid. It's just soldered directly to the jamma harness. It's about .01v difference to the PSU +5 so I keep it at 5.01. You can wire another 3 on if you like. One for +12 and the other two for the PSU. I don't see the point though, as you only really need to measure +5v under load.japtor wrote:It was simple enough I was surprised I didn't see others like it already. I find just the +5 is quite useful as it saves me getting the Voltmeter out every time I plug in a new pcb. Also prevents accidentally touching the wrong contacts or slipping when measuring voltages.
