Hi guys.

Would some of you who speak italian please tell me what this guy is talking about? It sounds so cool but I just don't understand one word of it.

Siete pronti, piloti? Che il conto alla rovescia incominci.

Once again drivers got together for a breathtaking car race.
It's a risky race on the public highway and nobody knows what is going to happen.
Those with poor racing skills will soon be left in the dust.
Are you ready, drivers? Let the countdown begin.

Wow! Thank you so much, Princess. That was AWESOME!

I've saved it on a separate textfile, this is a step closer for me to finally learn some italian.

... only because of that, youtube found me another video with a whole lot of new italian words for me to learn here: http://youtu.be/UDXzKc4upkM . So I'd better start learning.

I understand that "volante" means steering wheel.

Dear uncletom,

I left a message on your youtube account as a bottle in the sea some I'm also trying here even if this thread is quite old ;)

I can see you have "new" version of GTI Club SMF, mine is a bit older:
HGT:J:A:A:2009040901
1.2

Yours is:
HGT:E:A:A:2009062401
1.4

With my friends we have 4 GTI Club SMF cabinet and we are trying to unlock some features (with the famous code)
but we can't because "Game options > Game appareance" menu is not existing on our version...

Would it be possible for you to do a full image (raw copy) of your HDD (so I can burn it and try on our cabinet) ?
We have many original cabinets so if you are looking for something do not hesitate to ask ;)

Thank you.

Hello,

Just would like to say a huge thank you to uncletom, thanks to him we manage to image our HDD cabinet with the european version (1.4)
so we have been able to unlock everything with the previously mentioned code.
For your information it is not possible to do the same on the japanese version (1.2) because the menu to enter the code is missing.

See you.

I've not had the pleasure of playing Supermini Festa in an arcade, but I've been playing the Wii version with a wheel and it's very good indeed. Smooth, consistent framerate, good GTi-Club-style handling as it should be. Perfect analog steering with motion control. My one complaint is that the amount of info in the HUD can make things feel a bit cramped in some modes.

The only thing I have to compare it to is Sumo Digital's PS3 game in the series. The Wii version is by Genki and is every bit as good in terms of gameplay, way better in terms of content and modes, and most importantly it's still available to buy and - thanks to http://Wiimmfi.de - still playable online today on your Wii or Wii U.

Anybody up for it?

Arcade modes:
- Traffic Escape Race
- Time Attack
- Prize Grab
- Car Soccer
- 2-on-2 Car Soccer
- Bomb Tag
- Coin Collecting
- Tomato Festival

Co-op modes (1-4 players):
- Group Coin Collecting
- Group Target Attacking
- Group Tomato Firing
- Group Ball Rolling
- Group Goal Scoring

Quest mode, all with multiple circuits and routes:
- France
- UK
- USA
- Italy
- Japan

Online:
- Leaderboards
- Most game modes

Cars, all with numerous parts, body kits and paint jobs:
- Mini Cooper S
- Peugeot 207 GTi
- VW Polo GTI
- Abarth 500
- Morris Mini Cooper S 1275cc
- FIAT Abarth 695 ss
- Autobianchi A112 Abarth
- Renault 5 Alpine Turbo
- VW Golf GTI
- Nissan Micra
- Lancia Delta HF
- VW Golf GTI 16V
- Renault Sport Clio V6
- Alfa Romeo Mito Quadrifoglio Verde
- Ford Focus RS
- Renault Sport Megane RS

There's an active community for this, spread between the UK and Japan, playing the Wii version online using Wiimmfi service.

We race daily:

13:00 London, UK
22:00 Tokyo, Japan
08:00 New York, USA

https://twitter.com/GTiClubOnline

I've been recording online to show off each mode and race type available, still some more to go for the full set.

It's such a shame that Sumo's PS3 remake of this is lost forever in the digital download wilderness. That was great.

I might look into that sometime. I've been thinking I'd like to pick up a Japanese fat PS3 for a few games (Motorstorm, PS2 Sega Rally Port, Gradius V etc.)

Sumo did a version of the first 1st game Rally Côte d'Azur.
Supermini Festa is the 3rd arcade game.
They're quite different.

The PS3 game being based on the 1st arcade game (which is a classic) means it is limited to one course with a few routes and one multi-player game Bomb Tag (which is fine but limited). However, Sumo took some liberties with the conversion and kind of SEGA-fied it, the handling is quite different and they also replaced the "overcast" palette of the original with a Dayona style "Blue Sky!" super-saturated look. I still have it on my PS3, it's OK.

The Wii/PSP game is based on the 3rd arcade game - the same one this thread is about - which had the original France course plus three additional courses (UK, USA, Italy). The Wii/PSP game then adds a fifth course (Japan) which enables some "Tokyo highway battle" style races (given the developer is Genki, it's a nice nod to their other games!). Multi-player games are also increased in number, with shooting (tomato fight, target, group firing), sports (2-on-2 car football, group scoring), coin collecting, racing, time attack, a second tag mode on the UK course (prize grab) and combinations of those such as Group Ball Rolling where you all have to knock a football around a lap of the race course as fast as possible. The original Bomb Tag is still there on the France course. Cars and paint jobs are unlocked with a career mode which I believe is expanded on from the arcade version, with extra cars and more unclockables. Its very faithful to the arcade version albeit at a lower resolution. Controls wise you can use dual analog (classic controller), nunchuck, wii remote (motion control). And you can still play it online today!
