The all-first japanese supergun called "Control Box" was for sale this week. It was released in 1986 by Kyowa International.

Following on from Layer's post, the founder of Kyowa International Yasushi Suzuki participated in a small interview back in July 2019 on the IGCC (Japanese Institute of Game Culture Conservation) website regarding his involvement with Control Boxes and the early days of Arcade gaming.

Some interesting stuff in there, didnt realise that all of the different 'brands' of supergun were just pretty much one company.

It seems that his video interface / convertor was pretty much how he was succesful with his control box, and it was bizarre to read that SONY got him to sort out some of the video tech used in the Barcelona Olympics, again just because of this bit of kit.

Of course the interview is entirely in Japanese, but running it in Chrome with the auto translate doesn't seem to do abad job for a change (although admittedly I can't say that for sure as I ne parlez nihon pas). :penser:
