yaton6262

Post by SailorLodestar » May 20th, 2019, 2:17 pm

Anyone ever bought a cab from yaton6262? I see they're known to the community but does anyone have a good experience importing a whole cab from them?

A bunch of guys on Arcade Projects did - they needed a lot of work. Most of the Egrets arrived with smashed illumination panels.

I think the Windy cabs had dead monitors. They're definitely project cabs.

his price is only to the port , you will have to factor in clearing and shipping from the port to you also.

g60hot imported some cabs from him too. Most of the Windy 2 monitors died with 20 of being powered up.

I've bought a few dozen items from him over the years and most things had an issue of some sort. From completely dead chassis to working boards with shoddily replaced components.

I think the only perfect transactions I've had have been locks and NOS Cave kits but I know others have had issues with those. (water damage, DOA, etc...)

Great seller. I bought one of those NOS MFBL Another Ver boxed kits (before he sold out last year) and it arrived in mint condition (even the box). I then bought a MFBL JAPANESE PCB from him he mislabeled as an "Another Ver" PCB and priced super cheap. It also came mint and works perfectly. :awe:

I've bought a ton of stuff from him. Cabs are definitely projects cabs. Most of the old cabs he has came from a run-down warehouse that suffered water damage. That means metal parts have rust and wooden parts have mold. Anything made out of plastic is probably fine exterior-wise (not the Cyberleads though, as the plastic Namco used was junk and is now very brittle). All of the cabs have a ton of hours on them (NNC excluded I guess) and all of the electronics need servicing.

That said, some of the stuff he sells for 1/3 of the price the Japanese sellers are now asking, so if you like your cabs as projects, it can be worth it.

As for the NOS MFBL kits, mine had water marks on the art and the PCB had rust on the edge connector.

Bought a MFBL AV from him and DDP II from him. The MFBL kit box had one dented corner (not terrible) and the white instruction sheet had a small tear on the top center but all of the other contents were mint. As for the DDP II, the POP had some staining on the back (not really that bad and not noticeable from front) and the battery on the motherboard had scorched part of it but it still worked fine. The DDPII cart and everything else was mint. I'd buy from him again, you really can't beat the prices.
