Try just sold a Haunted Castle for 178,200 yen. It sold in like one/two days, also :wtf:

I agree, shocking game. I'd take the Neo Geo bag every time (with or without the slug) ;)

It'll blow your socks/wallet off: https://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/390962020
I thought I'd try my luck with this - the last one ended at 68k "buy it now" after sitting there for 2 months (mint with art).

Whoever is bidding on this is nuts. The art isn't super expensive on its own either:

I'd understand if it was matching serial, but the art doesn't even have a serial number.

Crazy price indeed and probably an isolated case

Indeed. 68,000yen -> 318,000yen is absurd.

Jesus! That price :-o

I didn't ever see the 68k copy. I'm actually surprised that sat there for so long. If I'd seen that, and had the spare cash, I'd have been all over it ;)

Try had one a while back (with no art) and it definitely sold for a lot more than 68k. At a guess, I was expecting this one would hit 90-100k...perhaps 120k if some crazy bidding war went down.

Annoying thing is, even if this is a pretty isolated case...I'm sure it'll still distort the market when the next one crops up :(

Yep. Looks like it's the version without Ultra mode though.

There's really not much point in buying Futari 1.0. It was mainly bug fixes as I recall. DFK 1.0 on the other hand has some interesting differences.

There are two MASTER VERs. One can unlock Ultra, the other can’t. If it hasn’t been unlocked by now, odds are it’s the one without Ultra.

So, what is a realistic price for 1.0 with ultra unlocked ?

That's a good question. It's been a very long time since I have seen one that actually sold. Suruga-ya has one for 409k yen but they've had that in stock for nearly a year and no one is interested. It's obviously a wacky price.

I can't think of any bugs in Futari 1.0**, the main differences compared to 1.5 are in the scoring system and bullet patterns, as well as shot powers, boss health, bomb power, number of bomb carriers, 1Up location, etc. As a result, 1.0 is much more difficult than 1.5 in every mode, and the scoring system is not as deep in 1.0.

DFK 1.0, in contrast, does suffer from several severe programming mistakes/bugs (counterstop possible before end of first loop, safe spot on Hibachi, etc).

**EDIT: Apparently there was a high score display glitch in 1.0. Also the Stage 4 boss final pattern is pretty much impossible to dodge. Both things fixed in 1.5.

I just unlocked ultra on my "no dot" version using the code provided by AMI :-)

I wish I'd filmed it now  I'll never 1cc ultra on this thing, but nice to have it nonetheless.

I take it CAVE don't offer repair/upgrades anymore?
