I saw that at £220~ yesterday and thought that was a lot. What's going on in Japan at the moment with PCB prices? Is it all us foreigners bleeding it dry, or has there been a crazy uptake in ownership locally in the hobby?

Judging by the amount of feedback it mostly likely went to some foreigner through a deputy service.
Absolutely mad price though.

I don't think it's foreigners. I was offered cheapish copies of mega twins when I was looking 3 months ago - could also be the art work....

Re: Items stv faps to on Yahoo Japan Auctions
I always suspect it's foreigners/agents because the prices of items in demand are so vastly out of line with items that aren't on the radar.
Like the Pocket Fighter poster I got for 200 yen while other Capcom posters go for over a hundred times that, or the Pony panel I forgot to bid on ends at 2000 yen but then the ones I have bid on go for over 20,000.
You'd expect fluctuation or a demand premium anywhere, but it sometimes seems like a whole other auction room.

Every time I got to MAK / TRY / G-Front / Beep!, etc.. I see 2-man teams of French and Italians (and yes - STV, many times) leaving with huge shopping bags completely stuffed full of PCBs and Saturn games. I really do think that mainland Europe is driving this madness.
I was just there this afternoon, and Akihabara is more foreigners than Japanese.

Isn't STV banned from a few of these shops though?

Re: Items stv faps to on Yahoo Japan Auctions
it's just a matter of high demand for stuff in limited quantity, even without these "speculators" price would increase anyway
I don't see any problem if a customer is happy to pay a fat markup to a middleman

Re: Items stv faps to on Yahoo Japan Auctions
I have read the posts about STV showing a frankenstein CPS1 kit (slightly different box and homemade serial number sticker) as a legit kit. He was trying to sell that kit and was caught by another forum member. I don't know if this is the complete story, but this is what I understood.zak wrote:Isn't STV banned from a few of these shops though?
I am curious about another infamous member: JAPJAC (Leading pioneer and expert in the field of Japanese videogame playing, studying & collecting in the U.K. since day one' © 2001. Japan resident & TFP founder.). He seems to do spam across all arcade forums but he seems to have a very bad reputation and I don't know his story. Actually, if you write his name in the forum you get an extra line
