How do people handle bigger purchases like arcade cab ones? I mean, do they use bidding services like Rinkya? Do such services handle bigger items like arcade cabs (which are heavy and need special care)?

From my understanding, they don't. They will allow you to bid on the items, win them, and get them shipped to their company. From there, they will not let you ship it out to yourself (unless you're local apparently).Mokum wrote:How do people handle bigger purchases like arcade cab ones? Re: Items stv faps to on Yahoo Japan Auctions
Like Hellfromabove said, they don't. I made a couple arcade cab purchases through buyee.jp and basically had to arrange for my own freight (which is a major PITA for time and cost). Didn't have many other options considering the alternative wasn't reliable.Mokum wrote:How do people handle bigger purchases like arcade cab ones? I mean, do they use bidding services like Rinkya? Never will do that again regarding the costs, but this is my last cab purchase for a very long time anyway.
If you're in Europe, I definitely recommend going through Ronnie. If you're in the Americas, like I am, we're just screwed.

Re: Items stv faps to on Yahoo Japan Auctions
Rinkya will let you ship via FedEx, but only FedEx. FWIW, a Q-25 ships for around $1600 to the states, customs and everything handled by FedEx. 3-day airmail express being your only option. Looked into it a bit back trying to track one down. They'll also ship a mini cute for around 1400. Ended up having Zorahk/Matvei help.Hellfromabove wrote:From my understanding, they don't. It's because you are buying just one cab.
To get shipping costs low you need to buy a container full and then the cost of shipping will go down quite considerably!
All the proxy services wouldn't do this for you they would only ship one cab at a time.I would imagine this is where you would need contacts in Japan to sort it all out.
EDIT:Coinopexpress says they can ship containers of cabs at reasonable prices if you look on their website

I understand the reasoning. My problem with the price is that you can get it down drastically. Just got one shipped for severely less.richmal wrote:It's because you are buying just one cab.

Re: Items stv faps to on Yahoo Japan Auctions
Coinopexpress does not handle importing here in the states. They'll send your container to the dock, but that's not enough to get it into your possession. They also have a reputation for sending incomplete, smoke-ridden cabinets. Plus, their base prices are generally higher than every other option /before/ shipping.richmal wrote:EDIT:Coinopexpress says they can ship containers of cabs at reasonable prices if you look on their website
