Seems silly not to take off the cardboard. I could see it going for more if it really is immaculate.

That’s mental!!! Listen, it’s not like I’ve got £4k, plus shipping and taxes etc to throw around… but for the opportunity of an actual NIB mini cute, I’m genuinely tempted!!!
You only live once, right??
Anyone familiar with how to actually successfully buy and import stuff from YAJ?

I’m sure someone got one of the middlemen to crate a cab. I’m not sure who or which though

I think Buyee will do it, I seem to remember someone getting a quote, but I think it was about £1200 for one cab back when a container was about £4K.

FromJapan will crate it and ship. I did it with a Cute on YAJ. It’ll be several hundred pounds all told, and import tax will be high on this.

Container costs are also through the roof at the moment. It's currently 4x the price what I paid a year ago, 2x from 6 months.
You will pay through the nose for it.

Closed at around 11,500 USD. Doesn't look like it was a proxy, but it's possible.
I'm going to venture a guess that any overseas buyers in the running were probably well-funded and not at all concerned about additional costs... probably a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to get a mint Cute. Worth it? To me, no. Might be to whoever was trying, though!

I'd cast it in resin so future generations can find it embedded in amber

Re: Items you can't afford on Yahoo Japan Auctions
Yeah, obviously it's a lot, but if the past twenty years of retro game prices has taught us anything, it's that in ten years £8k for a NOS MiniCute will seem like a steal. (end of the world notwithstanding).

Nothing to do with art. The one Beep sold went for more than that with copied art:kazuo wrote: ↑October 31st, 2021, 6:55 am Macross II PCBs are worth $2000 USD now? Or is that because of the art?
