Re: Mame in cab thread. Frontends, gamelists, configuration
Thanks for the files Joe. I'm uploading an updated MESS SNES and updated MAME set to the hyperspin FTP. Might tackle the Sega stuff sometime soon.

Re: Mame in cab thread. Frontends, gamelists, configuration
so i entered the below...with the spaces shown:
shutdown -t 0 -s -f
into the exit command box and assigned a button to it and all that happens is it shuts attract down....odd!
have you tested this out yet mr cools?

You're using XP64 as well right? It doesn't work.
I'm just checking if my plugin works for this.

Just launch a bat file which runs shutdown.exe on exit.
Code: Select all
shutdown.exe -s -t 00

Re: Mame in cab thread. Frontends, gamelists, configuration
Joe1: the plugin doesn't work either, same problem.
Joe2: that doesn't work, I already tried. It seems to be trapped in an environment that won't execute anything else other than what cmd.exe has built in. Unless you mean launch the whole thing in a batch file calling attract.exe first and then shutdown.exe afterwards - that might work but I'll check later, I have a feeling that it detaches itself so you might end up shutting down immediately.

I meant the first thing. Shame, batch Fu is a useful bodge.
Anyway, aren't you better off doing that disable cache thing so you can just power off?

That's not ideal with Windows, though on a cab I power off regardless.

Re: Mame in cab thread. Frontends, gamelists, configuration
Discovered I had a small set of video snaps left over so I've added them in to my layout (along with a bunch of configurable options for different things).
Using video for the background looks spectacular, plus it's something that no-other front end can do in the same way (stretch the video larger than the screen resolution).
You can find my stuff here: https://github.com/rogalian/attract-ext ... outs/cools"

Joe, I've updated my A-M layout especially for your taste: https://github.com/rogalian/attract-ext ... outs/cools" You can disable all sorts of bits in the user config, control alignment and which image is displayed etc.

Awesome cools, thank you very much sir!, still rocking your older version in the eggy and lovin it!!cools wrote:Joe, I've updated my A-M layout especially for your taste: https://github.com/rogalian/attract-ext ... outs/cools" You can disable all sorts of bits in the user config, control alignment and which image is displayed etc.
So it is configurable via the theme layout inside attract? or would I have to change the base script to suit?
With github...is it best to install github for windows to download these files?

Config inside the frontend. You can grab the files by using the RAW button in github.

Re: Mame in cab thread. Frontends, gamelists, configuration
Okay, so the 2 png's were fine. Layout file seemed to be okay, copied into notepad++ and saved as .nut and all appears ok.
The tweakable options are so much better cools, awesome...downloading 240p vids now just to test and then i'll try and find the most complete set of flyers I can, again just to checkout your layout in it's full glory......
one q, font seems to be generic and not your usual one? any idea on the layout file where I could change that?
thanks for all the effort mate, when you run your themes you know it was totally worth it!!

Re: Mame in cab thread. Frontends, gamelists, configuration
The font is the full name of the file in the fonts folder, its been renamed.
Try opening a command prompt and typing:
ren c:\windows\fonts\coolveti.tff c:\windows\fonts\coolvetica.tff
Theres still a few more fixes I'd like to see to their software but its nearly there.

Re: Mame in cab thread. Frontends, gamelists, configuration
Apologies for the late reply on this mr cools....
Got the font sorted and tweaked the sizes of the flyer and decided to add the screenshot small into the corner so as not to obscure the video as it's running.....even tweaked the movie sound running as it was a bit too loud tbh when the cabs in attract for my liking.....video runs a wee bit choppy in the background but nothing major...
All in all an awesome addition to the attract frontend mate and I really appreciate you taking the time to do it!!
