Windows 7 Read Only GroovyMame Image
Hi all,
I've built an image for installing 15khz GroovyMame running Windows 7 Embedded so you can write protect the OS partition and not have to worry about powering off your cab and PC at the same time and Windows getting corrupted. It has Attract Mode as the frontend with Windows completely hidden and comes with all of the software and applications you need and an automated installer process if you're not familiar with how to install and configure drivers and modelines.
You can grab the image here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Pue_kw ... p=drivesdk
And instructions here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1f5- ... p=drivesdk
Any questions please fire away!
Cheers,
Rich

Nice work.
Any chance you could upload to a better host?

Is this for a horizontal or vertical set-up. Is it easy to change if needed for a horizontal?

Macrium populated my NVME nicely, but BSOD on bootup, probably too many architecture changes from the original, I've had this before when restoring from a vastly different system type.
Edit - Just using the Macrium tools on the boot disk to see if it can fix the boot issues
Edit - This seems to have resolved the hardware BSOD Now normal blue background with a lot of rebooting, hopefully it's setting itself up in silent mode as per your instructions
Edit - Hrm, been going on a for a while and rebooted easily 10 times now, it's 16:18, I'll leave it running till 17:00
Edit - It's not having it, might not like the NVME, will try a different drive later.
Edit - Thinking about it, this whole system might be too new for Win7, B450M mb + 200GE cpu
I'll stick 10 on

Yeah, that might be a step too far! It was sysprepped so shouldn't have an issue with hardware being different from the original PC

Re: Windows 7 Read Only GroovyMame Image
Ive always had trouble with Windows images when going Intel->AMD or vice versa.
With this Windows Embedded, could it run Steam games?
Cause Ive got a setup at the moment using Win7 but the read only/ability to power off without corruption is super attractive.
