Best Raspi emu frontend for clean, single system emulation

Hi guys,

after quite some time away from the hobby, I am trying to get back into the grove. I got really interested in the Raspberry Pi and would like to build several emulation consoles. What I am NOT looking for is the one machine to emulate 20+ systems kind of thing. I'd rather like to use the shells of defunct consoles, put a Raspi in it an have it ONLY emulate that system. Basically what I want to achieve is something like a SNES Classic Mini - just not mini and with different systems.

However, I am currently totally lost when it comes to software / frontends, such as RetroPie, Recalbox, etc. They all seem to be made with multi systems in mind. Is there an alternative software you can recommend that can be set up to only emulate a single system?

Ideally, looking for a frontend with:

- no "select system" prompt, rather a straight list of games
- ideally no boot post messages
- ideally heavily customizable

Thanks!

Hyperpie mostly uses attract mode as its basis and has had some serious amounts of work done on it. You can get it from their forum as well as arcade punks, i think they still host the base image. Its definitely worth considering.
