Mame on a Mac

Post by chubsta »

Have been messing with sdlmame the last couple of days and am really impressed - sure it is no Groovymame for the purists, but in terms of actually having a quick few games i think it works great.

I am running it via qmc2 and find that stuff that i could never get to run full speed on my pc set-ups, like gauntlet legends, run pretty much perfectly!

Anyone else using it and have any tips for setup?

I compile it myself for having most optimized core.
Otherwise, it works great.

For quick games I just use OpenEmu app. I think it uses the retrolib cores.

i tried using OpenEmu but i had issues where the rooms i was adding were going into the wrong sections, in other words i would add Atari 5200 games and some would end up in 'arcade' etc
