Thanks cools, just trying to digest all this info now...."Curse this Puny Brain"!! :lolno:

I'll wait till I'm doing everything at the same time to tryout the ddraw setup.
Still don't want to get into super resolutions as I still haven't found any real benefits other than reduced modelines or am I missing something?

I would leave it for now, its still not 100℅ due to a GM bug. You can make it work but its not as neat as it should be.

Tried directdraw on my XP machine, emulation speed went way down, so much it was unplayable. Might be because multi threading is disabled, not sure - didn't have time to check.

Can't imagine MT would make that much difference but if that's the case then it may end up being DD in the cab with the i7 and D3D on the rest of my C2Duo 32/64 xp's...

I've not done a walkthrough for Windows 7 yet. One of my installations is ripe for it, but it may take a while to get done.

The guide for XP will work fine though with 7, the instructions for installing the driver are slightly different but they're documented on the geedorah site.

1.4 is not working on OSX. 1.3.2 works ok.
Posted a crash report on the forum.

Started playing with AttractMode and I have to say that it is by far the best front end I have used.
I love the scripting and the filtering. Using cools' 1.3.2 layout at the moment. Loving the full screen video playing in the background. Can't wait to start tweaking some more.

One question: Can you use button combinations for commands? i.e. Next Filter: Down & Start or something similar?

No. If it helps, I have mine set up like this:

Up/Down - previous/next game
Left/Right - previous/next filter
P1 / P2 start - random game
B1 - start game/enter
B2 - cancel
B3 - add/remove favourite
B4 - lists menu
B5 - add/remove tag
P1+P2 start (JammaASD shift key ESC) - exit (confirm)

Suggest it on the github if you want it, Andrew's been good with useful stuff.

Indeed. To all intents and purposes other than CV1000 I think 155 will be my final update for a long time.

Me too, everything that is achievable at the moment has been done. CV1000 will take a lot longer I fear... :)

The new version is incredible, even the built in layouts are pretty nice now. I can't find anything I want to do with the filters that I'm unable to do.

Just looking at your verticools layout now.... Very nice. Did you use another font? Your screen shot on the forum looks different to what I see?

Yes, I use coolvetica rather than the default.

It's an overused font but works nicely for this purpose.

Looks good to me :)
I think your layout looks pretty much spot on. I am going to have a play with the animation stuff to see if I can do anything with that.
The Arcade SD PCB has quite a nice front end with the logos zooming in when you cycle the games. I'm going to try doing some of that but I will get the machine all setup first because at this rate I will just be tinkering and not playing any games :D
