MAME in a candy cab (the shame)

Post by markedkiller78 »

I fancy **** about with mame again. It's been a really long time, so I'm out of the loop with what l33t and what's not :(

My set up will be:
Naomi (640x480)
JVS-PAC
Athlon64 x2 4200 + 2gb of ram
HD3850

I can get a windows 7 license if needed.

What I want, is a nice front end that the pc boots straight into. The ability to run street fighter 4 (pc version) mame, Naomi and possibly GGPO.

Is this possible? If so, where should I start?

Help greatly appreciated :awe:

Gameex

It's pay for, but good enough for a friend of mine to set up his emulation box and I've seen it being set up and used - will do what you want.

It looks like W7 media centre. I'll give the free version a go at the weekend ;)

QMC2 has an arcade cabinet mode on the way.

I thinking about setting up an Archlinux install with all roms on the network, system booting directly on qmc2 at startup, all into a nice PC case which I have yet to find.

Mark, did you go ahead with this at all?

I've had some time to mess around with MAME in my E3 running in 31KHz only and the results are astoundingly good. If a game can be linedoubled (240 lines or less in the source) it's possible to make it look like a 15KHz game with no tearing or juddering.
