Re: Nanao MS9-29 (05A00585D1) dead

Static as in high voltage noise from the tube? Any sign of picture on the screen? Does the B+ stabilize itself to 75V after the static noise stops or does it remain at 130V? Neck glow? Try and disable the protection by either sucking solder off pin 14 of the LA7853 or by grounding it.

Re: Nanao MS9-29 (05A00585D1) dead

You should disable the x-ray protection and see if you have HV/picture. If you have it, there must be something that makes the horizontal drive go nuts, like the HV polypropylene capacitors on the HOT collector. You can disable the protection by lifting jumper J466 near the flyback or shorting it to...

Re: NANAO ms8 26 I need some clarification

All MS8-26 chassis will work with that CRT except the version for A63LAV61X which doesn't have pincushion correction (not your case).

Is that tool actually turning the trimmer? Judging by the pic I would say it's unsuitable.

Do you think that's the issue? How can I fix them.
Not the current issue but soon you'll have that too.

Adjust the trimmer for horizontal hold. It's one of the many along the edge of the main chassis.

Re: 29" NANAO 2931 Tube Heater Short - What Happened?

If the anode voltage rises high enough to damage the CRT it means that the x-ray protection is not doing its job so the mosfet Q701 keeps driving the flyback when it shouldn't. The small module (U701) receives the x-ray protection voltage from the flyback (pin 10) and if this is detected as excessiv...

Re: PVM 2130QM flyback

What's the issue with this monitor? Are you sure it's the flyback and not something else?

Anyway I would do it like this. The first time I would disconnect the 200V wire from the neckboard to see if the voltage is correct:

Re: PVM 2130QM flyback

The G2 voltage on this monitor is not EHT-derived. The source is the HOT collector which is about 1000Vpp. This voltage is rectified to DC and the 1000VDC is sent to the neckboard where you have the adjusting pot. Pretty much all Sony displays of that time including TVs were like that. As for the pi...

Re: PVM 2130QM flyback

You are right. There are only two wires coming out of the flyback. This visual shows where the white wire becomes red with some sleeve covering the joint: https://www.donberg-electronics.com/pics/h/hr_6415.jpg (it also shows the empty hole for thwe G2 wire) The pinout of the HR doesn't completely ma...

Re: PVM 2130QM flyback

The upper pot must be focus and I think that was present on the original flyback too. The lower one looks just an empty hole to me. The question is why does it have a third wire when you only expect two? Check resistance across the black and white wires with a meter that supports at least 200Mohm.

Put the neckboard of the second chassis on the first chassis and you will probably have a working chassis.

Re: MS9-29T component identification

Size and lead spacing are also parameters to take into account. For C504 and C505 lead spacing is 20mm, for C506 it can be either 15mm or 20mm. If you get the boxy non-Japanese types, lead spacing needs to be exact as they have pretty short leads. Your first link is 25.4mm but if the leads are long ...

Re: MS9-29T component identification

The three brown caps (C504/505/506) form the retrace capacitor in parallel with the damper diode. They are are very important and at this point it would be a good idea to replace them. C504 is what nem said and is easy to find. C506 is 0.039uF 400V, also easy to find but C505 is 9100pF 2KV and this ...
