Re: switchres problem

I have followed the tutorial before and it all worked fine, unfortunately by updating groovymame it now doesn't work, I guess the only two options are to try and get an older version of groovymame that works or do a format and fresh windows install which I really don't want to do

Re: switchres problem

I've just noticed that vmmaker says 'no compatible video driver found (registry update disabled)' before it does its stuff.

it does then go on to find a huge number of video modes.

ArcadeOSD also works fine and i can test loads of different resolutions.

Re: switchres problem

i just tried running the setup for crtemudriver and it wouldn't let me, 'INF error; video driver not found'

I am running an arcadeVGA.

i ran vmmaker and that worked fine - it seems to find loads of video modes in mame and completes whatever it is doing.

i really hate pcs...

Just another pandoras box 2 - any good?

switched on my name cabs today and both had issues, mainly relating to the fact they have pcs in them - i am a Mac person myself so hate messing around with windows crap! Anyway, does anyone know if the 'Just another pandoras box 2' multi-cart are any good? i can live with missing some of the games ...

i had that and it was just a case that the adjustment board was loose and had fallen off, plugged it back in and all was fine - not saying that yours is as simple but worth checking!

Re: Making a JAMMA friendly MAME set up

Also, i use Macs myself and hate pcs, but i can build a pc and have mame up and running on it in not much more time than it takes to install windows so it is really easy, just plug stuff in the right socket, hard to go wrong...

Re: Making a JAMMA friendly MAME set up

As others have said, definitely get a Radeon HD4350 card - i got one off eBay for £16 a couple of months back - whatever else you do with the system you will not have a greater impact than being able to run GroovyMame easily rather than standard mame, it really makes all the difference. A super-fast...

Re: Groovyarcade - Anyone tried it?

Once I had the graphics cards sorted - an arcadevga in the Astro and a hd4350 in the Atomiswave - it was pretty simple, just ran the avres utility for the avga and the utilities for the calamity drivers for the hd4350 and it worked. Seriously, seeing the games at he correct resolutions makes all the...

Re: Groovyarcade - Anyone tried it?

I use groovyarcade in a couple of my cabs, both have nanao monitors running at 15khz and since i have got them set up right there is no way i would ever go back to running any other version of mame. To finally have games running at the right resolutions makes such a difference to the graphics, until...

Astro City sound - need a lead?

Since i got my Astro yers ago i have only used it as a mame machine and had sound running from my PC to a set of pc speakers. dunno really, i am more into the real retro stuff and play stuff like Circus Charlie all day long, I dont play anything that you might think is processor-intensive apart from the cave sh3 stuff. My limited experience of mame is that it doesnt really matter if you have an 8-core processor etc, mame w...
