Re: Does anyone fix PCBs?

Thanks guys. Having never removed a chip before. What's the best way to do that without snapping it in two/tearing the legs off? By the way, I'm very new at this - looking athe board, I see chips and solder lines. I have no idea of which is a PROM, which is an EPROM, or uhm whatever other chips migh...

Does anyone fix PCBs?

I've just wired up my cabinet with a new Jamma loom. ALl appears to be powering up fine, and the game loads - but unfortunatekly there are some graphical glitches such as: The "Image Fight" logo doesn't scroll up on the attract page any more, it just gets "stuck" near the bottom. There are grey bloc...

Re: Degaussing

check for an unshielded speakers nearby, move the cab by a few meters to see if the gaussing goes-if all this fails then either your degauss circuit is not functioning or you need a manual degauss wand to clear it up Thanks for the advice man. The purple patch was there when I picked up the machine,...

Sorry - can a mod move this over to the monitor thread? I'm still getting used to the layout if the board! :)

Degaussing

Chaps, My cab is displaying a purple patch to one side. It would appear that the degaussing loop is too small for the monitor as it doesn;t fit round the edge of the tube properly. Does anyone know where I can buy / how I can make a new one? The Monitor is 20 inch corner to corner with a viewable ar...

Re: Console Pad to Arcade Sticks

OK, What about Playstation, and Gamecube. Thinking about putting my N64 in my cab, but not sure how many games don't need the Analogue stick or the yellow buttons. Anyone know if the triggers on the 360 can be just soldered to like theother buttons, or is there an issue with them bing analogue? The...

Cabinet Art Advice

Hey guys, Having got my first cab (a hideous dirty old woody) I'm in teh process of deciding upon the way forward with my renovation work. I'm pretty set on doing the cab up with a Bubble Bobble marquee and side art. Does anyone have/know where I can get a large good quality Taito logo? Google isn't...

Re: Console Pad to Arcade Sticks

Oh I see. That would be kinda subjective really. The one I'm in the middle of for my 360 will be: B - X - Y A - LB - RB Which is the same layout as the Hori EX2. A lot of people have modded their EX2 with Sanwa buttons though, and rejigged it to: B - X - LB A - Y - RB The triggers are a pain in the ...

Re: Anyone familiar with Microplay?

I got it! My first arcade cab. Behold - my Microplay cabinet in all of it's hideous wooden Euro cab glory! http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_Fy1VlHeP42w/SWi5uq7QFVI/AAAAAAAAAC4/kJTXjJeSZeo/s1600/arcade%2B001.jpg Image Fight is really fun, I just need to look up how to turn up the machine volume online (unle...

You'll find tutorials for all this sort of stuff over at shoryuken.com.

Also, have you tried googling "xbox 360 pad hack" or whatever?

Re: Anyone familiar with Microplay?

EvilFunkster - That's good to know, thanks! I'm definately gonna buy it now. Even if I don't like the game and/or teh cabinet is junk, as the price I can't NOT buy it really - I can only improve it. Repaint and new stickers I think. :) Whilst I'd prefer a nice sit-down candy cab (I like the Jaleco M...

Anyone familiar with Microplay?

Hi guys, I am the archetypal Arcade machine n00b, so please forgive me my transgressions. Anyway, now that the obligatory apology is out of the way, I have a few questions that I'm hoping you can help me with. I am going to look at a pretty ugly cabinet on Saturday, made by Microplay. Whilst I'd pre...

I kinda like the Strikers 1945 games. They're Psikyo aren't they?

Hello by the way. :)
