Re: CPS 2 PHEONIX

it has all the stickers in place and all seems legit enough might still have alook inside it after just to see if it has any give aways. I saw the hyper anniversy on ebay and i see what you are saying. I wonder if they are no. like mvs's where? Generally, if you know what an original CPS2 label loo...

Re: CPS2 ethics

Like I said the only people who would benefit from the the info aare the one who would be interested in bootlegging for profit as anyone else has already figured out how the whole conversion thing works and has purposely kept it on the down low. I figured it out 6 years ago. I myself have written t...

Re: CPS2 ethics

The 'phoenix edition' splash screen is to identify it has been phoenixed, you'd see a lot more boots otherwise that you wouldn't be able to differentiate without opening. I remember razoola stating it was put there specifically for this reason. Plus, its hardly anything to worry about . you could a...

Re: CPS2 ethics

What do you mean with you dont like the "extras" ? All i ever noticed was a "phoenix edition" screen that you see for a second at powerup. If you mean the region change thing etc, you dont even see that unless you specifically enter that mode that brings you in the test menu. If you just play the g...

Re: CPS2 ethics

i would greatly prefer it if you technical whizz kids put your talents to a better use - such as a phoenix patch for cps3 :!: I believe some MAME Team members have tried, without success. The encryption is built directly into one of the two CPUs (Hitachi SH2 I believe) in the security carts. The CP...

Re: CPS2 ethics

Well I'm a collector, of course I prefer originals. I do own a HSF2 "conversion" simply because of that fact that, at least at present and for the forseeable future, I don't have the funds to buy the original. I'd rather have a bootleg than none at all. Maybe one day I'll replace it with an original...

Re: Someone finally did it... single chip naomi dual bios

I got an Export H bios, should check to see it can do older games.. I am sure I got Error 01 though.. I tried converting the Japan H BIOS to an Export BIOS with a hex editor and EPROM programmer a while ago, pretty certain I got Error 01 with all of the games I tested, as you describe. They all run...

Well I purchased one, but later had my PayPal payment refunded, along with a message from the seller that "the chips are broken".

Re: Hyper Street Fighter II: Anniversary Edition

I have a bootleg in a blue US case. I've seen bootlegs sell for anything between £80 and £200. I paid about £130 for mine, it has a glossy label scanned from an original and is pretty clean. Not cheap for a bootleg really, but I'm still happy with it until I can replace it with an original. In all h...

Re: Someone finally did it... single chip naomi dual bios

Well I'd guess the two BIOS images are joined "end to end", and the switch selects upper or lower region.

I've ordered one, so I guess we'll find out soon enough, although I'll have to wait for it to arrive here in the UK. As you're in the US it might get to you sooner. ;)

Re: Capcom Multi PCB

I also have an 18 in 1 CPS2 board and I can confirm that it works well. I most definitely prefer my originals, but I merely bought it partly to satisfy my curiousity as to how it works, and partly as something just to mess with. Although it wasn't a cheap purchase as such, I think it was worth the m...

Re: What PCB are you lusting after right now?

Acquired a nice clean Progear no Arashi yesterday (with matching motherboard and both clips). So that's one off my list. :)

Would love Pink Sweets and Death Smiles, but they cost waaay more than I could afford right now. :(
