Re: MS8 / MS9 & NAC monitor set up query

The scan coil on the 2932 ia slightly different to the 30/31/34, I've never tried the B1 on it but I could do when I get a spare hour

Re: MS8 / MS9 & NAC monitor set up query

IIRR you cant run and MS9 chassis on an MS8 scan coil without getting some major problems..
IIRR Ralph tried this and could never get it right..

The scan coils are similar but not the same, they wont damage the chassis but you will have issues... If someone knows better please jump in..

Re: wei-ya c3129 manual degauss?

IIRR remove a poly cap and a wire link.. There is a location already marked for a header for the degauss push button connector.

Re: wei-ya c3129 manual degauss?

You can mod the chassis to work with push button degauss without removing the ptc, its easy to do if you look at the schematics.

Re: Wei-Ya on an MS8 not working properly!

There is no way to tell you the right value cap to fit without testing, you have to measure the HV and make sure you don't go out of range, if you do you're going to cause the CRT to emit too much radiation. Not a clever idea unless you want to steralize yourself!

Re: Wei-Ya on an MS8 not working properly!

I've never seen height issues on either the MS8 or MS9 chassis, it was a problem with not going small enough on the Sanwa 29E31S with Wei-Ya chassis but I used to modify all the ones I sold.

Re: Sound not working in Naomi Universal

Basically, I went to turn it on after being off for a few months while I was at school, no sound. One time I heard something for a split second, but then it was gone again, and I cant get anything back. Worked fine previously. So are there any fuses or anything that I can check? It's not the board ...

Re: Nanao MS9-29 "Goop of Death"?

I'll say it again, the "goop" has NOTHING to do with dead chassis.. it's not conductive, doesn't cause any problems. For srarcade, Before you start hunting for another coil check the inductance against another and see if its actually bad... the whole means nothing, i've seen them cracked/split/leaki...

Re: Nanao MS9-29 "Goop of Death"?

The "goop" is from the component at the side of the Horizontal deflection plug, its potting compound and nothing to worry about, it has nothing to do with the dead /faulty chassis.. I don't know of that part failing on any chassis.. IIRR it's used on the MS29-30 and MS29-31, the part is NLA like all...

Playing with the red gain/cut off will just remove the red.. I asked if it was cracnked up higher than the blue and green.. If it is you've probably got a red gun with low emissions...
