Re: Items spotted on Yahoo Japan Auctions

Look at this incomplete Namco JAMMA/JVS converter. This got relisted several times and didn't sell for 1000 yen. Look what happens now once ppl start bidding. You gotta love it. :palm:

Re: Sega Astro city partial problem Monitor

These SSV boards are not exactly stable. Remember i had a SSV Stormblade PCB also acting funny on my NAC. Anyway, Since your other PCB's work, Adjusting your vertical/horizontal hold pot doesn't fix it?

edit: somebody else already replied while typing as it looks.

Re: Items spotted on Yahoo Japan Auctions

I put my Williams one up for sale just yesterday, not sure what to do now. I really want an actual factory Irem one and now I realise Tops sold me a hybrid, to be honest I wasn't 100% when I bought it, makes sense now, and why they were so cagey about supplying a photo. Keep the Williams / Irem boa...

Re: Items spotted on Yahoo Japan Auctions

Seems Moon Patrol is really a hot item in Japan! :-o http://page4.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/d153661643" Oh ****. That means the alleged original sold to me by Tops, wasn't. It has original ROMs but is a clone boardset as I'd potentially feared. I would have bought that if I'd seen it in time....

Re: Overheating PSU Supergun (meltdown)

Thanks for your reply! By further inspection of the original PSU pcb i've discovered some serious burn marks underneath some resistors. This PSU is overcooked for sure. Will get myself a more powerful one and stay away from the stock Sanwa PSU. Better check the manual by using any pcb's first before...

Overheating PSU Supergun (meltdown)

Had a PSU meltdown. Couple of caps slightly bursted and another unknown element next to the caps started melting. Must've been pretty hot in there. I was running an old Hyper Olympic PCB using a home-made Classic Konami to JAMMA adapter. What could have caused this? Is the board taking more amperage...

Re: Naomi sound in a jamma cab

Something's been modified in the cab. Your Egret 2 probably also has a flat tri-sync LG screen and no rotate mech right? Could be one of those converted Atomiswave cabs from the insert coin event? About your sound problem. Instead of using your Sega converter use a Capcom i/o which has an amp build...

Re: Strikers 1945 Hong Kong bootleg

Yes, Got an original Japanese Strikers 1945 PCB which has only two banks of dipswitches so it's completely different. Got everything off except for attract sound. Already solved the problem in the meantime?

Re: Twin Cobra PCB (US, Romstar) Freeze

Before i forget; Unfortunately the fault couldn't be traced. The 68k CPU was replaced but this wasn't the failure. After several more hours of checking all hope on repair was lost, Bummer! I donated the board as spares / junk. Another Twin Cobra PCB gone.

Re: Strikers 1945 Hong Kong bootleg

If it uses the same dip setting as an original then flipping the screen would be dip 1 on SW1.

Re: Strikers 1945 Hong Kong bootleg

Hmmm, That's a bummer! I would return it but probably too much hassle. This bootleg surely can't be as excellent like the original hardware.

Re: What's it worth?

I remember these (NOS) Aero's were being sold from Holland for €350 back then and i couldn't be bothered. :lolno: We were spoiled back then. Amazing price compared with nowadays. Wow that would be nice. I've only ever seen one for sale and I bought it. Yes, Some ppl sold it on. Here's the original ...

Crazy amount on that unpopulated E2 panel. What's an unpopulated E2 panel (2L8B / 2L12B) really worth then?

Seen this too on YHJ. Looks cheap all over. Hopefully the buyer didn't pay more than the 1000JPY it was listed for.

Re: Twin Cobra PCB (US, Romstar) Freeze

Thanks for your reply! Tried reseating the connectors several times but no change. Entering service mode is also not possible when setting the dips correctly. Even reseated all the eprom has no positive effect. I did notice when firing up the board i can see some stripes flickering across the screen...
