Re: How do you store your bare pcb?

Shops wrap them up that way when you buy them. I can never work out how to re-wrap them the way they were, it's very carefully done with flaps cut and so on

Do not trust the plastic rack load limits, I bought one of one type which still stands, and 3 of another type (pictured) which all started to twist and lean, and have been replaced with ...

First is Elevator Action according to the ROM labels.
2nd is Frog (Frogger bootleg)
Karate is Karate Champ (bootleg)
Last one is another Scramble clone.

Re: Sentimental Value

My first JAMMA cab which I still own (Europlay II), and the Turbo cockpit. Turbo CP is the only game my grandfather played with me at an arcade, and it was just the one time.

Re: A new Neo Geo game just announced...

Nah, X is a mess with bosses, some graphical touches are removed (look for the animated desert in stage 1 for example), and they crammed way too much filler in. With the turbo hack for 2 there's no reason to go near X anymore.

Not as bad as 3 though.

Thanks, is it a 2 or 4 player version? I'm guessing US? This might actually be undumped by the way.

Re: Calling all Thunder Zone / Desert Assault owners

The World rev 4p is as hard as US I think, just the JP 2P one is clearly easier right from the first screen.

Calling all Thunder Zone / Desert Assault owners

Hi, could anyone with a Thunder Zone or Desert Assault PCB which isn't either of: Japan 2 player (Thunder Zone) US 4 player (Desert Assault) please get in touch with me? It seems like MAME has some messed up sets and if I'm going to fix it I could do with verifying as many sets are accurate as possi...

Well obviously it's better if it was in an arcade to build up the protective layer of second hand nicotine. This seals in the glorious Japanese goodness.

Re: Is grail?

Japanese grails purchased in Japan are now vastly more valuable than Japanese grails purchased outside of Japan. The reason is obvious, when a PCB has spent all its life in Japan, it has not been exposed to the impure atmosphere of the West, which frequently taints items making them unusable.
