Re: D29C051 dim

A good question... I remember having to change it when I put it in years ago. I'm going to assume I did move it to the JAMMA level. VGA is lower voltage anyway isn't it? That would have made it too bright.

D29C051 dim

I have a NNC with a River Service loom installed, the screen looks usably bright but the adjustments are up in the 80s for brightness and contrast, so any dimmer games just look washed out even when it's jacked up even more. Does anyone have a solution for this other than increasing the screen volta...

Re: Toshiba PF D29C051 issues

To resurrect an ancient topic, these screens seem to have edge wobble or droop on various PCB families, Taito are a particular problem from Flying Shark era onwards, and most Seta derived hardware. Other boards like Namco ones are always perfect.

Re: How do you store your bare pcb?

I’m with HBOS and have to declare anything over £1500. Do Lloyd’s not insist on that? They didn't ask me to. I explained it was worth (lots) in total with individual items being worth between £10 and £4000, I had to explain what they were and whether they were things someone could easily resell lik...

Re: How do you store your bare pcb?

Covering your PCBs and using them like that is a bad idea - it will increase the working temperature. As for insurance with Lloyds it was as easy as phoning them and explaining what the collection was and the rough total value, and I was told they'd make a note and it would be covered without paying...

Re: You've Got Grail!?? AKA The Valuation Thread

Arcadia - the world rev of Rapid Hero (which is apparently now 270k in Japan)

Trying to find a fair price for it, I don't really want to sell but I need some money for something non gaming related.

Honestly I'd put that at £150 or £200 if it's Japanese.

How would you know if one was "floating" or not? Mostly common ground seems to be connected to earth on ones I've checked. Would this do the trick?

Re: Adding -5v to a Naomi/NNC/JVS - 2nd psu? negatron?

I think it's looking like the tempting option. What's the best quality JAMMA PSU you can get these days? At least the NNC has a cavernous amount of space in there to mount the second PSU.
