Re: New Mame setup

I'm working on a new setup for MAME too - I'm reading through here...

http://www.ukvac.com/forum/read-only-wi ... 66332.html

As I can get loads of W7 COA's from PC's we're scrapping at work and it's still the best supported OS for emulators.

Re: EX Board not powering up

it will have lost its cmos settings so you'll have to guess what some of them were, hopefully no custom setting have been lost.

Re: CPS2 A Board Fried?

I've done something like that - pulled the pins out then superglued a piece of plastic like a chunk of CD case into the slot.

Re: CPS2 A Board Fried?

Do what I do - put a blob of solder across to bridge top & bottom pins together where the key goes, works perfectly and isn't going to drop out.

Re: EX Board not powering up

Check the cmos battery - I got caught out the other day with a PC that wouldn't power up, spent ages checking stuff to find the CR2032 was flat, replaced it with a new one and it fired up first time.

Re: CPS3 : Hanging with error 13,23, etc...

Strange :( 13 and 23 it’s simms 3 faulty and the only one with a problem is simms 4 .. I saw error 11 maybye two times .. Apparently the second digit doesn't always indicate the bank - which was news to me I always thought the second number was the slot in error. The only way to test the simms is t...

Possible candidate for the "Gallery of Sh*te"....

Rip-off pricing, iffy design, average game selection - could only be worse if it was a PlayStation Classic.

Re: CPS3 : Hanging with error 13,23, etc...

Hello, Penros it was error 11 ,13 and 23 not error 13 ;) sometimes the message please insert a valid cd-rom. Sorry for the inconvenience I don’t really knows the eBay rules but penros you are an honest guy and if the one of simms was not faulty it was a perfect transaction. ;)unfortunately sometime...

Re: CPS3 : Hanging with error 13,23, etc...

Flash memory is consumable, unfortunately. You might have to replace the chip(s) on the simm. That's what I'm beginning to think. I've had the PCB and the simms on heavy soak testing and everything else is rock-solid. What I don't understand is:- I can "Erase" the simm and it seems to erase OK (the...

Re: CPS3 : Hanging with error 13,23, etc...

So 13/23 - points to a problem with the simm in slot-3. I've pulled the simms out one by one and put them in simm slot 8, erased, written and checksum'd them all and only one seems to have any problems (oddly it's not the one that was in slot-3). The 64Mb ones in bank 1 & 2 are Fujitsu. The 128Mb on...

CPS3 : Hanging with error 13,23, etc...

I sold a CPS3 setup on eBay and I'd soak tested it for ages - but after an evenings playing SF3:3S the buyer opened a "Item not as described" dispute saying when he tried changing games all he got was repeated error 13/23 etc... It's running Darksoft's multi-bios on a modified JoJo cart with the V4 ...

Belongs in the gallery of overpriced s**t or as an April fool's gag.

You'd be better off buying a Chewlix and putting a PC inside - for the price you could buy a Vewlix and put a PC inside and still have some change for beer.

Re: Sega / Vewlix CP CAD files

Had a batch of the vewlix ones made and they're slightly too wide. Bolts are in correct locations but panel could do with 1mm taking off each end. They don't fit a chewlix at current width - bolts line up ok but they don't fit into recess as 2-3mm too wide. I've confirmed by measuring against my F p...

As the two Vewlix-F's I got from John's order needed a good clean I've documented the strip-down process and added it to the Vewlix Wiki page. https://wiki.arcadeotaku.com/w/Taito_Vewlix https://wiki.arcadeotaku.com/w/File:Taito_Vewlix_disassembly_guide_Pt1.pdf https://wiki.arcadeotaku.com/w/File:Ta...

Re: Vewlix: Replace easily your screen with a 1080p or 1440p monitor

If they ever release a 32" OLED screen then the monitor in my Vewlix is 100% getting this treatment. If the current one dies I'll replace it with the LG - I'm not paying Taito's extortionate prices.
