Re: Darksoft's CPS2 Multikit Tech Support Thread (No Killing B-Boards!)

Kit is installed and running, but I don't want to take photos because at this point there's nothing unique about my setup. When I have the case done up, I'll do some showing off :D

Re: leonardoliveira & Idc's clean decrypted roms

I'm having some problems reviving a Puzzloop 2. When the game boots I get an "OK" on all 4 memory check items and then just sits there, never going into the game. The game died on my watch, so I know it was working 100% back when I last played it. Board is clean and never had issues back when it was...

Re: Huh!? How do these work? Dreamcast>Naomi Adaptors

Sorry to resurrect this thread, but I like keeping things where they belong rather than having 8 threads on the same topic but from different eras/users :awe: Didn't there used to be a list somewhere of all the games that supported the use of Dreamcast pads? If someone could point me where that migh...

Re: 3D printed CPS 2 Volume Up Down Test buttons

That's a cool idea, but those things are so wambly to begin with, I have a hard time imagining that a 3D printed one would be any stronger (I'm guessing it would be even weaker). Weakest point of the CPS2, by far.

Not a Lost Art: Arcade Game ROM Hacking

Sure console ROM hacks are still happening all over the place, but it seems far less common to see arcade ROM hacks beyond the SSFII Rainbow days. I thought it would be nice to have a thread to highlight current ROM hacking efforts. I'll start it off: Early this year, I had an idea that it would be ...

Re: leonardoliveira & Idc's clean decrypted roms

Not sure how up to date the avalaunch site is on which games have been tested on actual hardware, but here are some which I have recently tested (which were not already noted on the website): Japan 19XX The War Against Destiny (Thanks, Mottzilla!) Japan Battle Circuit (Thanks, Mottzilla!) Japan AM S...

Re: Something you don't see every day (CPS2)

I saw a full size Tournament Battle poster on Yahoo Japan Auctions recently and thought of you, Mitsurigi_W :D I actually intended to buy it for you, but then STV got in there and mucked things up, as usual. Not even joking.

Re: CPS-2 Security pin?

I drill mine out. I have trouble with the pin spinning sometimes when the bit grabs the pin, so I carefully cut a slot on the other end of the pin with a dremel cutting wheel (not hard if you have dremel skills), so I can hold the pin in place with a slot-head screwdriver on one side and drill on th...

Re: Are there any Superguns that work with a Madcatz Fightst

undamned, over at the SRK forum has been developing a USB --> discrete signal board that can do what you're looking for. He has incorporated it into his UD-CPS2 super-guns, which you can just connect your present day USB fight-sticks to. A few of us have been bugging him to make this product availa...

Re: Taito F3 Bubble Bobble 2 PROTOTYPE PCB Discovered!!!!

This stuff is shared so people can enjoy it, rather than me locking it away in some vault never to be seen. I'm a big collector of Taito stuff and seeing innocent games get hacked up is the last thing I want. I'll just keep reminding myself it's one or two individuals trying to **** it up for every...

Excellent find and more importantly, excellent coverage! I own both a Landmaker prototype as well as a Twin Qix prototype that appear to use the same hardware, but yours is much cooler for the fact that the game version is so different from the final release!

Good show, sir! :D

Re: leonardoliveira & Idc's clean decrypted roms

Not that I don't value my original carts/CDs (Warzard! :D), but I'd be pretty excited for a flash based solution w/ every CD image onboard to replace the CD-ROM drive and a hacked Key cart for an all-in-one solid state CPS3 setup.

Leo and IDC, you guys rock! :awe: For those of us who love this hardware, these fixes/discoveries are wonderful to see, especially many years after they've been emulated (it seems once something is emulated, many people stop caring).
