Easiest way to play Dreamcast on JVS?

I have a Naomi which I'd like to play my Dreamcast on - what is the simplest way without butchering the cab's wiring?

Thanks

Cable ID

Anyone know what this is - it came with my Naomi cab and the small plug looks suspiciously like a dreamcast controller connector.

Maybe an analog connector? I have 2.

Re: Monitor Swap - help needed :)

It all depends if the monitor is already in a frame with the chassis attached. If it is, it's easy peasy.

Otherwise - ALWAYS discharge it. Twice even, with a few minutes in between - just to be safe.

Is the remote board laying on a metal surface causing a short circuit?

Re: gulp. . . . . arcade vga

With some arcade vga cards you need to use the digital out (the square connector) on a vga monitor - the normal vga out on the cared is just for low res arcade monitors.

I hooked up my netbook to my Naomi with just a vga cable. You don't need as special video card to do this.

I personally hate the MK games, but that cp really rocks!

Could you not use the clear seimitsu start buttons with the cp picture parts under the button tops? You'd get a bit more of the logo back...

Re: Highest Quality/Best Candy Cab?

I tate monitors one handed  On a slightly more serious note - My Pony II 28's are pretty good - they only have Hanty monitors in them (not orig I bet!, nor brilliant) but the tate mech is awesome. You could (nearly) tate them one handed. Apart from the fact that I have a hori and a vert, though...

Re: swapping sanwa 29e31s for nanao ms9

It's a standard Naomi frame and I don't know exactly what model of ms9 it is.

Maybe it's a different model to the norm?

I'll post some pics tonight....

Re: swapping sanwa 29e31s for nanao ms9

That's odd!
I have the correct grey Naomi bezel now and there is a 10mm gap in between screen and bezel. The back monitor box fouls on the monitor cage too. Were you fitting the nanao with a Sanwa bezel by any chance?

I made some cheeky spacers a minute ago anyway!

Re: swapping sanwa 29e31s for nanao ms9

Franco - I made up some 3mm spacers and they are 10mm too small. I reckon you may have got the sizes of the pfx and ms9 mixed up?

No worries, though - I'll just remake some tomorrow.

The monitor is awesome though! Excellent colours and I managed to get the geometry nigh on perfect :awe:

Nanao ms9 degauss

I have now fitted the ms9 to my Naomi and it looks great. Only thing is a tiny bit of degauss needing doing. I sorted it temporarily with a degaussing wand, as I am not sure how the wiring works on the amp plug. The red and black set of stripey wires were (I think) for a degauss button on the sanwa ...

Re: swapping sanwa 29e31s for nanao ms9

I've just tried the ms9 chassis with the sanwa tube and it does seem to work, but with a lot of crackling noise at the back.

I'm just not going to risk it.

I'll make up some new plastic bushes for the correct tube tomorrow at work and put in the correct tube.

Re: swapping sanwa 29e31s for nanao ms9

Arses! I've just put the tube in and the monitor surround hits on it. I'm thinking that I could mount the tube BEHIND the mounting bracket? This isn't going well. :( EDIT- Harumph! I've taken the damn thing out and put the old one back in. I just need to sort out the width issues with it as they are...
