Re: reset a pcb without shutting down the cab

https://electronicmercenary.files.wordpress.com/2014/04/117e-toggle-me.jpg DPDT = Double Pole, Double Throw. Basically it's two ON-ON switches connected together. As only one of each side of the switch is wired up it acts a dual ON-OFF switch. When the switch is in one position both 5v and 12v are ...

Re: reset a pcb without shutting down the cab

Its a DPDT switch so I thought it wouldn't hurt to wire up and switch 12v off at the same time.

Re: reset a pcb without shutting down the cab

As nem said, you need to switch all 5v pins at once. I made something similar for my STV multi prior to the auto-reset firmware being released. Before that you had to power cycle the game board and I didn't like powering the monitor off/on unnecessarily. https://photos.smugmug.com/Wiring/n-q62gc/i-3...

Re: 6 buttons on Taito Egret 2

Thank you very much! Very kind of you! Let me have your PP details and I'll make sure to cover your costs. I could do with 2 if you have 2 of them? No problemo, I'll shoot you a PM once I've dug them out. I've got contacts too if required. Can you dig one out for me :shifty: I'll have a rummage aro...

Re: Game Boys (Bivert-curious welcome)

By ghosting do you mean some kind of motion blur or? I've not had chance to play a lot of games since modding it but I've not noticed anything off putting as yet. I hardly have hi fi eyez though. :geek:

Are there any games that show ghosting well? I'll try and grab some video if I can.

Replaced the screen in my OG white GBA today with one of the [ Chinese ones from ebay. ] I originally installed had an Afterburner front light kit in it some 16+ years ago. Check out the soldering skillz on this bad boy :lolno: https://photos.smugmug.com/General/n-PVcsR/i-XH2cvfC/0/3e1ad8fb/X2/i-XH2...

Re: Are you a feeder?

I'm pretty much in the same boat as you zak. I always play one credit at a time as I really enjoy getting a little further than I have previously and the 'reward' is seeing part of the game I've not seen before. There's a certain thrill comes with that which is heightened by trying to stay alive as ...

Re: Header dimension (pony25)

The thicker 5mm section fits inside the cab. You can put the 3mm section on the front or the back. It makes sense to have it on the back so that the front is flush. I used to use a router to make mine but if you were looking to get one made you would want to get one cut at a company with CNC machine...

Re: 6 buttons on Taito Egret 2

The E2 is wired for five buttons from the JAMMA edge. Button 6 is connected via the S connector. Take a look at the [ E2 wiring diagram ] All six button inputs are wired to the ten and 15 pin JST YL connectors as can be seen in the bottom RH corner. Only button four on pin 9 is labelled 'Spare 1' bu...

Re: Wanted: Game Boy Advance (modded with backlit screen)

I think my OG white GBA was the first thing I ever modded. I remember buying it from Dixons on launch with some crappy games on finance when I was doing my apprenticeship. I remember using a soldering iron of my dads (who had and still has never soldered) which had a massive tip ( :whoopsie: ) to in...

You've made one before? Awesome :awe: I would be interested in seeing one of your repros. nvs asked me to make one many moons ago and I remember looking into it. IIRC I was going to make a mould and a heat oven to form it. Do you get enough gravitational sag (whoopsie) with a hot air gun and localis...

Lol, I was going to say. I was a bit worried when you mentioned carton paper. Maybe I still should be :awe:

I've not had a Cute before, how does the monitor cover fit to the cab? Cast plastic hinges or?

I made it before with some foam and black carton paper. Then painted. There is only this way I know.
For this?
