Re: Tokyo Arcade Stores

Yesterday I went to Akihabara and bought some games in Mak and G-front. I have to say that the staff in both shops are correct, friendly and kind. The guy in G-front didn't speak 'engrish' but was easy to deal with him writing the things, also gave me some pcb feet for free. A bit offtopic: Anyone k...

Re: PC motherboards with Jamma interface?

Shinsengumi, here you'll find some more information about them: http://shmups.system11.org/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=17472&hilit=jamma I thought some time ago to buy one and make a nice pc to run doujin games and emulators, but as it is said in the link these motherboards are a hell to configure and are m...

Re: Buying arcade games in japan

If you don't want to be slugged, don't buy from Akihabara or any other electronic city. It's made for tourists. :shh: Arcader, I am going to stay some weeks in Japan next september.. Could you recommend me some interesting places out from Akihabara and Den den town to buy cheap stuff? Also, what is...

Re: New Sega hardware, new sega game

English video http://www.hasntfiguredouthowtoembedyoutubeproperly.com/watch?v=1bRust1z8NQ&feature=related The cabinet looks very cool. It's like a small version of Vewlix with a touch screen (22'', 26'' or 32'' screen?)... If the Control Panel can be swapped to a regular one or selfmade one for pla...

Opinion about this monitor

The following is a recurring theme, but I have a setup with 25 inch 15Khz crt triniton monitor which shows very good pic and has sweet scanlines... Thinking about the Naomi/Dreamcast games and the new SF4, KOF XII and other nice 360 ports to come I have thought about upgrading to a trisynch monitor ...

Re: mame 2gb ram v 4gb?

My MAME machine runs off a 2GB Compact flash card with about a gig free  Yeah, I was planning to do somethig like this. A system that runs from IDEtoCF adapter with one CF for the S.O and another for the games+emulators..... Then, if my setup it's in Tate mode I put the CF with vertical games ...

Re: Upgrading your Candy cab with an LCD...

Maybe 1280x960 is more realistic. VGA would probably still look nice with the pixels doubled IF it's doubled properly, it'll look great. I've never seen a panel that does it without filtering or messing up the display in some fashion. Why not a 21'' 1600x1200 LCD? it's 2'5 times 640x480, and 5 time...

Re: MVS-U4 25'' rotatable?

I'm afraid you can't. I had a MVS-U25 couples years ago and it was "untatable" I wish as the information webpages and forums says that the MVS-U4 was rotatable it's true, but from the picture I have taken from google, and drawing an imaginary bezel above the cabinet, I think that's not possible. In...

MVS-U4 25'' rotatable?

Can anyone confirm that the MVS-U4 is really rotatable? I'm going to buy a MVS-U4 cabinet, but before buying it I want to verify that it's possible to set the monitor in vertical, as I only have room for one tiny cabinet and I also like Shmups From what I've seen in some places (also in http://www.h...

Erzane how cheap it's an Aero in Switzerland? I have been offered one near my city but it's not cheap and not in good condition, have some oxidazed parts in the cpo and the cpo surrounding.
