PlayChoice-10 to JAMMA

I'm trying to run my dual-monitor PC10 PCB in my NAC cab, and I'm kinda stuck. I've just confirmed that the board actually works, with the game booting up immediately in an original Nintendo cabinet, but when I try to hook it up in my NAC using my home built JAMMA adapter, nothing happens except the...

Re: Dumb question re: pcb feet installation

I don't remember who I copied the idea from, but I've seen it around several places - instead of screwing the feet into the board, I just hang them on two hooks hanging over the side of the board. Makes switching out PCBs extremely quick and painless.

Re: 4 button games on blast city?

It needs that yes, but I think it's safe to assume that is already connected. I'm pretty sure it comes standard in any Sega Candy

Re: How to remove antistatic coating/scratches arcade monitor

Curious, what polishing compound are you guys using? Anything specific that would be best to avoid?

Re: 4 button games on blast city?

You can usually add the fourth button manually to the existing loom. Kick is only for boards that use a special plug for extra buttons (like Capcom fighters) http://wiki.arcadeotaku.com/images/e/ed/Blast_cp_cab_pinout.jpg Lowest row, opposite of the ground wire that's already connected to every othe...

Re: Paint, sand, polish, wax...

Novus 1/2/3 does wonders on the black plastic marquee. Mine was ridicolously cracked all across, and I managed to touch it up perfectly using only 1 and 2 that I already had lying around for pinball reasons.

Re: PCB newbie questions

Depends on the cab. If it's standing on its side, there shouldn't be an issue, but even then I'd still be careful if your cabinet has metal sides inside (like most candy cabs do). In my old wood cab I just rested the PCB's on the side, but in my New Astro City, I use the wooden board you can slide i...

Re: Introduce yourself here!

MVS and F3 are definitely a great way to start out, that's where I came from myself. Cabinet looks really awesome too! I know most people here prefer the Japanese brands, but some of those really traditional woodys just have a special kind of atmosphere around them. The control panel looks like it w...

Well, you can't run it for your own personal use either, but that's not gonna stop people, is it :\

Re: Strange sound glitch on MVS cart

Sounds the most likely then, thanks a lot. There's a limit to how far I'll go with this though. If fixing the issue requires a donor cart it's pretty much pointless, since it's a somewhat cheap game anyway. And of course at the end of the day, whether the game works properly is the repsonsibility of...

Re: Strange sound glitch on MVS cart

The quickest way to confirm whether the culprit is the PCM chip, is to replace it? It has a billion tiny SMD legs, doing that sounds like a project for the ages :P

I second that. What's the quickest and dirtyest way to confirm whether this is the issue? :)

It sounds like exactly the same thing you're experiencing in the first video!

What's the approximate ETA on the troubleshooting results for your carts? I would love to hear your conclusions.

Strange sound glitch on MVS cart

Hey forum. I have this Spin Master cart that I bought from a fellow forum member - unfortunately, there seems to be a weird issue with it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZBgF8oAKtJg (warning for headphone users, the sound is extremely high pitched and loud) As far as I can tell it happens every tim...

Re: Supergun - JAMMA to NAOMI

What you're looking for is typically just described as a "JVS I/O board". I've heard that some models might add additional lag - but good brands like Sega, Namco, etc. should be fine.

Re: Arcade cabinets on wooden flooring?

If you plan on using the wheels to move it once in a while (like, to get behind it, or putting it on its back to rotate the monitor, etc.) it's not too good for the floor. I put mine on a long carpet so I don't have to think about it.

Re: Few random question about a Blast City

3. How easy is it to break in to the BC coin box? how would one install a lockbar on the fiberglass body? I know this doesn't really answer your question (though I'm sure it would take a long time to get anywhere without power tools), but if you're worried about people breaking into your cab, you s...

Re: Sigma Hakuryu Supergun issue

I'm guessing the issue is your TV. I've had similar issues trying to run arcade hardware on flat panel TVs, where it looks like the green and red colors are switched around.

Try testing your supergun on a CRT before you blame it. :)

Just save your bombs when fighting Jitterbug for the 2up. That way you'll go into Tyrannosatan with at least 6 bombs in stock + most likely a bit more. That should be enough to always finish him off no matter how much you suck :)
