Re: Mame Front ends in your cabs
Hawk, i swear by Maximus also, but ive heard of another fa that looks damn sweet. http://www.hyperspin-fe.com/index.php?pageid=features Not available for public consumption yet but looks quite promising. By the way, what happened to KC? Hey, that looks fannytastic! Some might say over-crowded, but ...

I really want to, it's just, err, you know, err, it's a bit long and I'll definitely get round to it when, err ...I'll print it out I think and look at it in bed. Thanks a lot for sending it. Re: Switch a pc on from the mains switch?
I'm glad actually. Thanks for the update - I wasn't aware that some motherboards need a bios change too ...So I know what to do myself now if I ever run into one.

Re: Switch a pc on from the mains switch?
Just cut the PSU's green wire and connect it to one of the black ones - Use a crimp so that you don't have to cut the black wire - Or just carefully shave a little bit of the plastic off the black wire and wrap the end of the green wire around the copper inside it, then wrap it up with tape. That's ...

you know, it's ****. Big chains monopolize everything. Hard to think of any little shop/business that could survive.
Admittidly though, an arcade isn't the first thing you should think of.

Your dream machine?
what cabinet would you love to have the most? Specialist or generic? Woody or candy? (if space was a non-issue).
For me, it would have to be a working hydrallic Space Harrier machine. I had a dream about finding one a while ago.

Right, I'm going to make a post that I may in the future delete as it's a bit personal.

Re: Best. Console. Ever
Neo Geo is surely the Best. Console. Ever. But the question above the poll is "which console holds the best memories for you" and that's got to be snes/MD for most people here. Hard to decide what to vote for, but in the end, I have to go for the predictable Snes vote for best memories. Imported sne...

Re: The Little Big Planet Thread
I'm tempted to get a PS3 for it.
You know, a PS3 with this game would sit quite nicely in a certain HI-DEF LCD cabinet.

Great! You might have better luck not using the literal translation. Try "slutty schoolgirl's pussy garden".Shady994 wrote:*heads to ebay*

Re: My master's thesis re: Japan's game centers
I remember reading once that the arcades are heavily frowned upon by traditional Japanese culture as they destroy the yin and yang balance. It would cause great shame for someone of a certain age to be spotted in one. But, I just tried a quick search for anything about this and nothing showed up - ...

Re: SFIV in Eastbourne??
thanks for the further input. Got stuck with work today and didn't research the potential sites for the machine(s) as I planned. As allways with these things, there are more costs the more you learn about it, but I'm pretty much 50/50 about it at the moment ...Deadly serious though, don't get me wro...

Re: SFIV in Eastbourne??
oh, This is of no real interest to any of you, but sadly, Reg, a man I had been working with recently, and has managed a local arcade for around 30 years or more, died recently at 76. He was a traditional amusements man (an ex-carnie) and was very well known and well loved in this town. It was in hi...

Re: SFIV in Eastbourne??
thank you VERY much for the informative replies. Andy and Poolchamp, that is just the kind of experienced, knowledgable input that I was hoping to get. Tbh, I am a lot more encouraged than I thought I would be by now. The free rent I had in mind is in a struggling fruit machine arcade that I know th...

Re: SFIV in Eastbourne??
I'm far too inexperienced with this sort of thing to offer and real advice. All I can say is the odds are against you, but if you pulled it off it would be great. Best of luck man. Me too really, but thanks. :D -- ...you should have planned this in advance and get it done in July/beg August... Yes,...

SFIV in Eastbourne??
I'm toying with a little idea at the moment. Purchasing 2 SF4's and 2 Vewlix's and renting floor space in a local amusement arcade and publicising locally that the machine's about. I'm sure the "rent" would be free as the game would bring in good custom. I'm even thinking that around here, one of th...
