How to get a 'brand new' monitor screen?

since a few months I'm the proud owner of a used (obviously) New Astro city. It is in pretty good shape, although the (anti-reflection?) coating on the monitor screen had a little damage on two spots (sigaret burns?). This annoyed me. And there were of course uncountable very tiny scratches from cle...

connecting a Gamecube to a New Astro

I don't know if this is the right forum, but well ..... I want to connect my Pal Gamecube to my New Astro City by modding a RGB Scart cable. I did this previous with succes for a Dreamcast, a Saturn and a PSX/PS2. However, I can't seem to get it right with the Cube, I double checked all connections ...

Re: Adjust Horizontal synch on my Astro

I don't know what shimmering is, but in your first pic you see two black knobs (just below the hanging light grey cable). the top one is for focus, the bottom one for screen adjustment. If your monitor is out of focus, just turn the top one (or let someone else do, so you can watch the screen and gi...

Re: New JVS Mame project, have some questions

Mala doesn't support native rotation though which is one of the prerequisites posted above. Unless your graphics card supports rotation, you're then stuck with AdvMENU which isn't really skinable. I love it as it's really configurable and you can get it to do practically anything you want. I highly...

Re: which chassis board would I need to trirez my Astro?

Great CKong, I received my Rodotron chassis this week and still need to replace it. I'm guessing this was in Psykicks cab? Yes, it was, and you'll be surprised about the result after you swapped yours. Í'm sure Psykick is willing to arrange something for you regarding the actual swap as long as you...

Sorry, but then it still should be possible to bypass the Jpac. As long as the monitor is feeded with a 15Khz signal, not 31 KHz.

Re: which chassis board would I need to trirez my Astro?

Yesterday I witnessed a swap of an original chassis for a Rodotron 666A-29 tri-sync chassis in a New Astro City of a fellow gamer. Watching it I thougt it was pretty easy and doable if you have some understanding of monitors (safety first!), and the result afterwards is amazing. 15KHZ games still lo...

Re: j-Pac... this should work....right??

For various extremely complicated reasons i dont want to use the 'keyboard' encoder function on my jPac, i want to just use it to send the video signal to the monitor, and have the joysticks etc routed via a different keyboard encoder to the pc. In that case, if I'm correct, you don't need the Jpac...

@Chubsta, are you sure the link is correct?

as for tri syncs,if you just install a chassis it becomes a trade off-basically you will get various results from various chassis with various tube/yoke combo's using various boards 31k and 24k seem to come out fine, the problem only seems to happen on 15khz the 666a chassis came off well on the san...

Re: wei-ya 3129/astrocity : witdh problem

@grantspain, I saw a lot of your posts in other forums, and from what I've read I assume you have a lot of knowledge of (tri-sync) arcade monitors. Could you perhaps give your opinion about the picture quality of tri-sync monitors in 15Khz mode, as I've read somewhere that this is not always as good...
