Challenge accepted.

Managed to swap out the monitor from the other cab so have 1 unit running nicely. Will take a look at the other when I have more time.

Re: CRT Colour Calibration

I've just found the Calibration page on the wiki :awe: I think the Red pot is duff, as the blue & green seem to have a nice range from dark to bright, but the red seems to do nothing then over-saturated. I've noticed the 3 pots on the neck-board for RGB. Is it worth doing anything here, or am I goin...

Raiden Fighters 2 (I think) PCB Help

Going through a box of PCBs and came across a board I've had for a few years. I bought it from somewhere in the UK circa 2008 (probably KC) when I was working in NZ, and had it posted to my mum's in the UK. When I went back to the UK I had totally forgotten I'd bought it, and when I fired it up it w...

CRT Colour Calibration

Hi, So I fired up my Mushiking cab with the original 14" CRT and was greeted to a very weird picture & I assumed a **** monitor. Anyway, long story short Naomi set to 31k :palm: and the awesome </sarcasm> VGA connector that comes with the mushi cab being able to be plugged in upside-down actually pl...

Cab Spraying

Hi, Well after 6+ years in the garage  , I finally have the time & drive to sort my 2 mushiking cabinets. Originally I was thinking about getting them blasted to bare metal, then sprayed or powder-coated white, but the cost of getting this done over here is :-o So I've decided to keep the cabs...

Re: Help with a Naomi 2 setting up

SUN PSU would be good, but you can also use an ATX PSU, but will need to get a power-loom to give you the JST power connectors required. Just re-read your 1st post - Audio (red & white RCA) are on the Naomi Motherboard, so you will need to connect those to a suitable amp, or go the Capcom IO route &...

Re: WTF happened to Sega Saturn collecting

I thought prices over here (NZ) were crazy because of the limited market. I started selling off all my duplicate consoles & the games I would never play and the prices people are willing to pay is astonishing. I put a Saturn up for sale, then had to pull it as the optical unit had stuffed up, and a ...

Re: Help with a Naomi 2 setting up

I have found this photo on the net. My jamma has power but how does it go to the Naomi? From memory, the JAMMA loom will power the IO only, you will still need to power the Naomi Mainboard separately. The CAPCOM IO has a power connector to the Naomi Mainbord which is powered by the JAMMA PSU. In th...

Sega IO is just +5 and +12V. You'll need an additional 3.3V feed.

Re: Understanding Sega Naomi

OK, I can 't help on where to buy this stuff, but what you will need will depend on the cabinet you end up buying. Obviously you're going to need a Naomi main-board, but I guess you knew that! If you're looking at a JVS cab, then you probably won't need anything else. If you're going the JAMMA cab r...

Analogue Joysticks - Help Please

Hi, I've got an Escape From the Planet of the Robot Monsters PCB which uses Hall-effect analogue sticks as standard. I don't have any, but I do have a Sega analogue stick, which uses 5k pots (I think). Can I just whack the Sega stick into the mix & all will be fine, or am I going to have to rig up s...

Re: Problems with Sega Extra Button Loom

I've not logged in here for a number of years, and have been a bit out of the scene for a while, but looking through my spares from a Naomi Uni cab using your numbering scheme: 1 - P1 B4 2 - P1 B5 3 - P1 B6 4 - Empty 5 - GND 6 - P2 B4 7 - P2 B5 8 - P2 B6 9 - Empty 10 - GND I'm pretty sure the Uni & ...

Re: Jamma Megadrive/Genesis problem

Composite Sync is Horizontal & Vertical sync combined.

If the monitor requires H & V sync, then sometimes you can use comp on the H-line, if not, then you have to split the H-sync out.

Re: JAMMA (sound) via SCART to TV

I assume using a 280 ohm for pin16 is because they are using the 12V line. I usually use 5V through a 100 ohm, but it works out roughly the same: V=IR >>> I=V/R I= 12/280 = 0.043A I= 5/100 = 0.05A I used to set the volume POT on my JAMMA boards to give me an output of 0.4-ish volts, and then hotglue...
