Re: Arcade Club - Bury

I'll add it to the to do list then :awe:
I'd seen a video that shows they've opened another floor for 18+ which tempts me, since I'm pushing 40, but it looked to be mainly PC and console stuff, so not sure if that was worth it.

Re: I/O board + Power for playing Naomi in a Blast City

Does the Blast have 3.3V on the PSU? If not, you're still going to need one for the Naomi.
Also, you may need an Audio AMP if the blast doesn't have one either.

Re: Dreamcast jamma 5v to 3.3v

I don't think that module is going to work, as it's rated to 800mA and I believe you'll need more current than that. Options are to run a 2nd 3.3v supply in your cab, or even swapping out for a PSU with 3.3, 5 and 12V (like the Sun PSU in Sega Cabs). Other option (and the cheapest / easiest by far) ...

Re: Retro Scaler - call for input

what about adding a header for 15khz RGB signals? then one could make an adapter and connect scart devices for example... even home computers or whatever else is 15k That is the idea with the mini-din-8, so you can just get something like this: https://www.retrogamingcables.co.uk/micomsoft-xrgb/eur...

Re: Need Help on AMP Up connector

I found the best thing was to use one of the AMP UP pins with a wire attached to it so you had something to grip. Looking at your picture, stick the pin / paperclip above the stuck pin (you will see there is a small gap at the top of the hole, and not the bottom) then wiggle gently while pulling on ...

Re: Cab Spraying

They look great, and I'd be interested of course. Same plans of course here.. 2 player link up, and to do the swappable CP's once I have the connectors and relevant crimp bits for all that stuff :thumbupright:  If you need AMP UP connectors, I can probably help you out :awe: I have a shedload...

Re: Cab Spraying

Sorry for the delay, busy with work... Here is a (really ****) photo of the panels http://i68.tinypic.com/315ejut.jpg Sorry it's so **** massive! Hole on the left is for a Sanwa stick (no mounting panel required) and then the 6 30mm button holes, and a final 24mm for start. Top panel is the back-end...

Re: Cab Spraying

I'll try grab some photos this week of the CP's. The panel is the exact shape of the original mushi-king panel, and the mounting holes are in the same place. The layout of the sticks and buttons (and spacing) is the same as the 1P side of a 2L12B standard Sega panel (the long ones like on a Naomi Un...

Re: Cab Spraying

I decided to spray in the end. Some of the plastic was a bit rough in places so I used some filler & wet& dry to get it smooth. My spray-painting skills leave a lot to be desired :awe: so this is a WIP. I was going to prime then spray, but the all-in-one stuff is cheaper so I'm using that as the pri...

Re: dj_johnnyg's FFS more dead stuff thread

Cheers! The AES one is certainly much easier to read :awe:

I built a logic probe yesterday and had a quick prod around (mainly to test it worked) and will sit down later this week & map everything out.

Should I get a pulse signal from the crystal? I got absolutely nothing from it.

Re: dj_johnnyg's FFS more dead stuff thread

I don't really get it. According to the schematic, the 24MHz pixel clock goes into NEO-D0 which then generates 68KCLK and 68KCLKB. As far as I can see 68KCLK only feeds the 68K itself and NEO-C1 which looks like addressing logic only. If NEO-D0 has a broken/badly soldered/fried 68KCLK output, this ...

Re: dj_johnnyg's FFS more dead stuff thread

Thanks Guys. So far I have tested continuity to RAM1&2 (which I assume is work RAM) and the BIOS from the 68000, and all is fine. I have also removed the old battery as it was looking a bit dodgy and can't find any eaten traces. I've tried booting the board using 5 different BIOS (Stock, 3 versions ...

Re: dj_johnnyg's FFS more dead stuff thread

Well the Diag BIOS was a bust - click of death still :awe: I'm going to source some RAM and do a swap of RAM1 & 2 and see how that goes. Out of interest (and since they're not SMD) would the battery/cap/crystal in the backup area cause this issue? Easy to replace if so. Also, I've been reading about...

Re: dj_johnnyg's FFS more dead stuff thread

Double Dragon PCB - Image is upside down & the dip switches don't seem to change it at all. John i cant believe no one has realised that DD is upside down Because its obviously the european version and its been played on the wrong side of the world . :shifty: easiest fix is to move back to the UK. ...

Re: dj_johnnyg's FFS more dead stuff thread

Anyone know where I can get a schematic for the MV1FZS? Also need to find what RAM chips are what (I'm assuming 3 & 4 are backup ram, since they're in the backup area) Been looking around all day & going round in circles. There are some schematics but they're either for a different model or so poor ...

Re: CRT Colour Calibration

Bank holiday today, so time to fiddle (snigger) Set about the chassis today with my multimeter and took some readings on the pots - all 5k. I was hoping for a remote board with the adjusting knobs so I could swap between monitors, but no such luck. Anyway, the troublesome Red pot was functioning as ...

Re: dj_johnnyg's FFS more dead stuff thread

Well it's not all doom & gloom - decided to take a look at my monitor that's been playing up and tested the pots. All look fine & they match the working monitor. Decided to plug into the working cab & see what's going on, and with a bit of a tweak I've got another fully working monitor. I think the ...

Re: dj_johnnyg's FFS more dead stuff thread

I guess i'll start with the stuff that is sort of working. Need to pickup some iso and get cleaning. The dead stuff is annoying as there is no obvious indication of what is going wrong. As rugdoctor said, at least the Naomi's are running fine and happy that I have 1 ST-V going, and the broken boards...

dj_johnnyg's FFS more dead stuff thread

ARRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!! Right, so it seems a trip halfway round the world and 7 years in storage has not played nicely with a lot of my kit, so I'm hoping I may be able to get some pointers & advice from anyone on here... ST-V Motherboard - Dead. I've got 2 so I've tried swapping BIOS to see if ...
