Re: Hyper Bishi Bashi Champ - System 573 RTC Error

You're welcome.

It would have been a great feature, even 24kHz (as some Konami hardware from around the same time had) would have been awesome.

No, System 573 is 15kHz only.

Re: Hyper Bishi Bashi Champ - System 573 RTC Error

No, the RTC only stores config data - the only thing that will kill the game is if the Flash ROMs die (they can be replaced as well, but are even worse than the RTC, since they are harder to source the chips). It's safe to run it as it is (just a bit inconvenient). Since you've got the CD version, y...

Re: Hyper Bishi Bashi Champ - System 573 RTC Error

Yes, the battery in the RTC chip has died, it's a common 573 problem as these boards get older (some of these are 13 years old now). It's a surface mount chip, and tricky to replace unless you have the tools and experience - it's also not that easy to source replacements (they tend to come from Chin...

Yes, it does. I've run Konami Python 2 hardware at 31kHz over the JAMMA edge just fine.

I'm liking the fact that the single most listed game in this thread is Ibara.

A far cry from Killer Cabs, when everyone seemed to hate it :P

Re: What will never leave your hands. Prolly take it to the

Ibara and Flying Shark are still the two that I'll never part with. I almost had a heart attack yesterday when I threw Flying Shark in the cab and it failed to boot... but it just needed the +5V turned up a bit. All the rest of my shizzle (aside from the cab itself) will be up for sale very, very so...

Re: Death Smiles coming to Europe

Mine arrived today, yay! :awe: You've already got it! :awe: I've got the JP re-release, the US one... and will pick this one up once I have some spare £££. One of my friends also owns it on all regions (but he's mad and owns 3 xbox360s so he can play all regions). It plays very nicely on a cab, btw.

Re: SSF2T / 2X

SSF2X is the king of the original Street Fighter IIs, no doubt about it. SSF2T having a premium because it is somewhat rarer and English, I can also understand. The fact remains that you can still buy them for about £40 in Japan even today, and $300 is pretty much Street Fighter III: Third Strike te...

They were going for £50-70 until very recently. Don't feed the ripoff merchants, SSF2X still sells for about £40 in Japan.

I don't think much of DDP DFK (or Black Label). However, the arrange mode on the Black Label port is absolutely awesome fun (it's encouraged me to finally get the pad hacks up and running so I can play it on the cab). I don't think it's the weakest title, though.

This might give me an incentive to play the port, here's my old best score for Rosa (which is over 2 years old, shameful), although I need to rinse DDP DFK arrange first :P

The Makvision 29" is 100% definitely a re-badged Wei-Ya M3129DB1-72 (well, tbh it's not even particularly re-badged, just the box - the chassis even still says Wei-Ya on it :P)

Re: recommeded horizontal shooters?

carrier airwing.. an old fav of mine.. un squadron on the snes.. i like that game.. Carrier Air Wing is the sequel, and isn't quite as good as UN Squadron/Area 88 IMO (I don't like the fuel continualy dropping even if you don't get hit in CAW). The SNES version is pretty different to the arcade one...

Oh yes, no probably here - they are great fun!

I can't confirm, but I don't think the regular System 573 games are tied to the unit they are installed on - that's a peculiarity of the Bemani System 573 Digital games (the analogue setups don't exhibit this behaviour, IIRC).
