Re: dumb q on naomi candy cabs

Strongly recommend a net city / naomi universal if you can find one. Otherwise it'll work in any jamma cab with the right IO and stuff, but you'll need to be a bit more knowledgeable. JVS cabs are basically plug and play.

Re: NNC and pc

Here's what I do: Pick up a 15" LCD for a few bucks at the pawn shop and throw it next to your cab. Get a card video with 2 outputs on it. Connect two displays, one to each output. Ideally don't use your cab monitor yet. (you can use DVI to VGA adapters if you need to) Figure out which video output ...

Re: Help fixing eprom on bootleg Tumble Pop

I would take a few reads of #9 and then compare them side by side in a hex editor with the MAME roms that you think it might be. If you think a lot of the data matches up with one of the files you're looking at, then just burn a new one from that set. Worst case the new ROM makes the game glitch and...

Verifying the Heavy Metal Geomatrix version in MAME

I'm looking for someone (or multiple people) with Heavy Metal Geomatrix NAOMI carts and the ability to read EPROMS. Long story short I have a cart that is not marked as Rev A or Rev B and I'm trying to determine which version it actually is (to buy another one for cabinet linking). I have downloaded...

Re: Whats in your cab(s) right now?

Got this set up last night after some time spent repairing the damaged panels. Sweet! Haven't had a chance to play outtrigger. It's pretty fun. The trackball aim is a great mechanic and the trackballs are very accurate. Linked cabs would be way more fun with more than two, but playing the CPU is en...

I figured that might be the case, so it's of no use in my cabs, but I'm still curious if they actually function together.

Re: Sega Trackball replacement substitute

Has anyone actually wired the Happ 2 1/4" trackball to a NAOMI trackball IO? I see a lot of info that it "should" work but I'm curious if anyone has actually done it.

Re: Getting Sanwa 29E31S to sync to Windows after booting PC (w/ W7)

This may or may not help you but what I do is use a graphics card with two ouputs. I set one to a normal / hi res, and the other to 640x480. I just boot my cab/pc (when the PC is in it anyway) with a little 15" LCD monitor next to it to handle the boot / login and the desktop is extended onto the 64...

Re: NAOMI cabinets, wireless routers, and my sanity

Maybe check the channel frequency it is on now and put it as a static channel than auto selecting. Might not be the wireless either on 2.4ghz or 5ghz. Could be coming from the router over the mains/powerstrip. Good detective work alk the same. Ed That is a good idea. I'll check the wireless channel...

NAOMI cabinets, wireless routers, and my sanity

I recently made my own loom to run JAMMA games in my Net City. The cab uses a MS-2933 auto tri-sync. A couple of days ago I get in bee storm, and I notice some "wiggle" in the video. It starts at the top of the monitor (or what would be the top if it were not tate) and moves to the bottom, then repe...

Re: What joysticks came stock on Blast/New Net/Vewlix?

Depends on the control panel installed, some have mounts for sanwa JLF, some have mounts for Seimitsu ls32. Either way, whichever ones you need are easy to find and purchase. my blast has JLFs in it now, as well as my net cities (one of the panels is a new net city panel that takes sanwa JLFs)

Re: Naomi 2 game errors ?

It's not a game I've played but as far as I know it's a standard joystick/3 button game so the capcom IO "should" work. I could understand that error if it used analog joysticks but I don't think that it does. Without another IO to test with you might be stuck until someone can test the game for you...

It is pretty normal for a coin meter to ship with 999XXX so that it can be tested before it hits 000000.

Thanks for the wiki update

I verified the behavior is the same on a NAOMI motherboard as it is on a JVS-PAC.
