Re: Marvel vs Capcom 2 and other NAOMI games w/ VMU capabilities

Can you unlock any extra weapons on Powerstone 1 with the VMU (like on the Dreamcast)? Not sure about power stone 1 but I know on power stone 2 it really looks like you can. It has the same ending that shows unlocked items as the home version. I need have some old friends over to play a bunch of po...

Re: Naomi Dimm board and gd rom error codes

Mainly just making sure your power spliter cable was good. If you've got a proper 5v/12v at the drive, then you're probably 'good' there Sadly it does sound like your GDROM drive is bad, and maybe the dimm you got with it. Since your netdimm gets you to err 25, the other dimm is probably bad. Since ...

Re: Naomi Dimm board and gd rom error codes

Starting simple... Have you verified voltage at the gd rom drive, and tried a different SCSI cable?

Re: Crazy Taxi to Initial D v3 Question

As far as I know view change is wired to p1 down, and the CT shifter is wired to up and down. So reverse on the CT shifter should do view change on ID3.

Re: PCB Voltages Very Low - Please Help!

I see. But all ATX output 5v, do they all fall to 4v when plugged? Like I said it's a matter of measuring under load; the voltage should measure around 5v at the device being powered when the PSU is under load. Some PSU's will measure higher or lower without load; I have one that will show 4v with ...

You should always measure your voltages under load. Measurements without one are useless.

Re: Kaneko Super Nova error B - NG

Guessing you don't have an eprom burner? You could dump the rom(s) to see which is which. If at least one on the board is good, it's an easy task (well, if they're in sockets anyway)

Re: [REL] NAOMI Multi-region BIOS

ok, got it, I'll look at this issue. are you sure this not related to I/O ? afaik some games wont work with no coin counters connected or spoofed. Yeah, I'm sure. I had to spoof the 2nd coin counter on one of my cabs for Shikigami no Shiro II, but that was an error message that gets displayed, not ...

Re: [REL] NAOMI Multi-region BIOS

skate323k137 can you describe exact sequence of actions leading to Spawn freeze ? I'm using emulator ;) I only had a few moments before work today to continue testing. Basically as others have said... if you boot the game on a NAOMI 1 motherboard without credits in, it freezes as the CAPCOM logo st...

Re: [REL] NAOMI Multi-region BIOS

I have recreated the spawn issue with an original cart, as has another guy. It will freeze at the Capcom logo with a multi bios but boots fine on a regular JP H bios. Does this regardless of if a comm bd is present. I have burned/verified the multi bios myself, the cart passes test mode check, and I...

I also use a high low converter (also known as a line out converter). Works great. You could build an attenuation circuit yourself but the things are cheap to just buy that I just bought one.

Re: Naomi display problems with SEGA I/O

You have a NAOMI JVS IO but you need a NAOMI JAMMA IO. I don't know how much more clearly we can lay that out for you. The controls go through JAMMA and the JAMMA harness powers the IO. The JVS power connectors from the 001 loom powers the NAOMI.

Re: Naomi display problems with SEGA I/O

Pretty sure it's a normal 6 pin JST, but why on gods green earth are you trying to use that IO board in a blast city? So I can connect the player controls up to a Naomi. Unless I have completely missed the point.... I use a NAOMI in a blast city with the IO that penrhos just posted a picture of. Su...

Re: Naomi display problems with SEGA I/O

Do not run power to the jvs port [usb connector]

You need to take 5v and also probably 12v from your psu to the 5 and 12 volts inputs on the IO

It is far easier with a blast city to use a 001 loom with a Sega jamma IO like the rev B one.

Re: Naomi display problems with SEGA I/O

How is everything wired? Yes, all naomi IOs require a power source. When I use naomi boards in my blast I use a sega JAMMA IO with the 001 loom, and run the video through the IO so the blast receives it over the JAMMA harness. The IO is powered from the JAMMA harness. If you're not powering the IO f...

Re: dumb q on naomi candy cabs

Blast city cabs are nice if you use jamma games a lot. I have one, and two net cities. If you really just want to play a netboot naomi setup a net city or new net city with either a nanao ms2933 or Toshiba perfect flat is the way to go. Both are better than the ms2931 you're likely to get in a blast...
