Re: [Naomi netboot] Melty Blood Actress Again won't start

Nice, that sounds about right. I also have a copy of that "v6" bin that has never worked for me.

Cheers fellas.

Re: [Naomi netboot] Melty Blood Actress Again won't start

Yeah the multi's are based on the latest versions (H/C) I don't know if I've ever booted this game on the multi bios, but anyway, I also sent Sp33dFr34k the .bin that I know works on a stock H bios. Hopefully he can get to the bottom of this. Worst case I can also test with a stock H bios and multi ...

Re: [Naomi netboot] Melty Blood Actress Again won't start

What is your bios version? You need an H bios, this game will not boot on any older bios, even if most games netboot on them. For example a G bios will boot most games but not MBAA.

Re: Naomi 2 won't boot!

At least it sounds like you ruled out the filter board. That is progress.

Normally I'd recommend Ken at iRepairSega, but he's US based and shipping would probably kill you. He's the best in the business though. Maybe hit up andy geezer and see if he can help you out or find someone?

Re: Naomi 2 won't boot!

I guess to clarify what I was asking, a better way to say it would be; do you have another working NAOMI or NAOMI2 motherboard you can borrow the filter board from? Using a different board like that probably isn't going to help. The filter board is the same between Naomi and Naomi2 systems though. I...

Re: Naomi 2 won't boot!

Do you have a spare filter board you can test the PCB with?

Also have you tried booting without a cart/dimm inserted? You should at least be able to get the boot up screen / test mode that way with any luck.

Re: Naomi 2 won't boot!

Hope you can save it. I personally remove the supercaps from all my NAOMI boards... most common cause of damage and they're not necessary.

I can try sending you a new .bin that I know works. I won't be at my PC for a day or two but you can PM me if nobody else helps you out.

Most have a reset. Also defaults should be listed in the service manuals.

Re: Sega Blast City Power cut-off issues

I had LemonyVengence (over on arcade-projects or neo-geo) make me a loopback connector that plugs in place of that switch. I used a zip tie for a while with good success but when it came off I had a heart attack lol.

Shellshock to open a listening socket... Brilliant. I have a feeling that exploit will plague embedded linux sysems for many years to come.

Re: JVS in AWSD - Where to start?

The NAMCO JVS-JAMMA IO is for sys 246 and uses a ribbon cable instead of a JVS (USB) cable. It won't work on other JVS stuff like a NAOMI system. I know the capcom IO is getting a bit pricey, but it will basically be plug and play for you. If you keep an eye out on forums you can usually get one che...

Re: JVS in AWSD - Where to start?

If you have a sega JVS-JAMMA IO (the one with the JAMMA edge) it will handle everything but audio.

Re: JVS in AWSD - Where to start?

Depends how new of a jvs IO you need. If you just want NAOMI and system 246 era stuff, a capcom IO would handle your audio and controls over jamma. Just skip the power cord between the capcom IO and Naomi. The IO will pull power from and handle controls over the Jamma edge.

Re: CPS2 Single Board conversion

Please don't. At least don't kill a battery board. If you're going to convert something at least use a board that's already been converted.

The information is out there but it's frowned upon to do.

Nanao ms2933 has no problems with it, but I do use the 2nd input for JAMMA video since it's amplified. NAOMI runs fine in 15 or 31 on the dsub though.

Basically I use one input for 0.7vpp and the other for 3vpp, regardless of resolution.

I'll see what I can do for you. If I remember right PowerStone 1 has no controller/VMU support, but I will double check.
