Re: Best game(s) to introduce kids to arcade games

Nice to see this thread alive !

My oldest kid (4) is actually pretty fond of Deathsmiles, but my Bubble Memories and Golden Axe: The Revenge of Death Adder are the biggest hits with he kids visiting our house.

Re: Locating stuff on Yahoo Auctions Japan

Would anyone know how I would search for a monitor chassis on Yahoo auctions? e.g. a Nanao MS9?

Cheers

Re: Scrolling picture in Espgaluda on NAC

many years ago we had to place a 5k resistor across vertical sync and video ground on some manufacturers game boards otherwise you would get vertical roll,I remember namco and snk being two of them Interesting! I will try this as soon as I get my hands on some resistors. Would it be correct that th...

Re: MS9 29A turn off... Again

Well done! Do you change the vertical deflection ic ? I just tried to start the machine after it had been sitting in a relatively cool room (around 18C), and the picture was all messed up, it folded over it self and was close to vertical collapse. After 10 minutes the picture looked normal, but wob...

Re: Scrolling picture in Espgaluda on NAC

My father (who tinkers a bit with electronics in his work) suggested that it could be an impedance mismatch, and that I could try connecting sync to ground over an adequately high resistor to overcome this.
Does any of you know the input impedance on composite sync for the Nanao MS9 chassis?

Re: Scrolling picture in Espgaluda on NAC

I have an original single PCB version of Espgaluda working 100% on my MS9 monitor in a late model Astro City. What monitors do you have this not-working on? Does the +5VDC measure OK with the board installed? An Astro City and New Astro City both with an MS9. But it works on two Egret 2s also with ...

Re: Scrolling picture in Espgaluda on NAC

I'll just revive an old thread. I've been playing with this particular Espgaluda board today again after getting a second cab in my basement working, an Astro City. The game rolls in the same way as on my New Astro City like it doesn't get sync. The game works perfectly with my LastBandit Supergun +...

Re: MS9 29A turn off... Again

We so far got the faulty Astro here to work by reheating a couple of dodgy looking solderings on the neck board and chassis.
We'll see how long time it keeps working :-)

Re: MS9 29A turn off... Again

My friend's Astro City, which is currently sitting in my basement, has the exact same problem. The chassis has recently been recapped, we have replaced the power supply, and the b+ voltage correctly measures 75.5 volts. This weekend we will try to reflow solderings on the chassis and neck board - pe...

If anyone has spare button plugs lying around, I would be happy to take them off your hands.

Re: Drilling locks or finding keys (Blast, New Astro and New Net city)

Its fairly easy to drill a lock, but if it is original sega locks that would be a shame.

Can you post pics of the locks?

Re: Arcade cabs at the new public library in Aarhus, Denmark

That's pretty awesome. Out of interest, what is the deal with regards to public liabilities? For example, if someone injures themselves whilst playing it, or something goes wrong and it sets itself on fire? Does the library include it on their policy, or, as an organisation do you have some form of...

Yes, unfortunately we had to sacrifice a bit of the authentic arcade feeling to accommodate the rest of the library :-)

Arcade cabs at the new public library in Aarhus, Denmark

Hi all, The new public library in Aarhus (Denmark) called Dokk1 ( https://dokk1.dk/english ) opens tomorrow. Yesterday we (TASF, the local arcade association) helped them install their first three permanent arcade cabs: Two New Astro City and one traditional Danish JK cab. They'll begin by borrowing...

Arcades and arcade shops in Seoul

Hi all,

I'm going to Seoul for a conference next week.
Can any of you recommend some good arcades to visit and places to buy PCBs (if any?)

Cheers
